Since price is the line. At one cigar a week and a working man's wage, I have never been disappointed My Father Le Bijou. It is an apex cigar hands down at $12.
I'm into the first 3rd and I am blown away by the unique flavor profile and how well it all balances in this smoke so far. I will never say a cigar is 'worth' 100 dollars but I'm not mad that I spent it on this and if you can afford it I recommend trying one
Excellent review as always, but as you know most of us real guys can't even come close to affording $100. For 1 cigar. Apparently there are enough cigar smokers that can. Will be interested to see where it will come in when the top 25 Aficianado list comes out! Thanks Tim great job
Most expensive cigar i have is the Arturo Fuente The Lost City, 75 euro, no idea how it tastes yet, waiting for a extra special Day for that. This Plasencia sounds interesting for a most special Day maybe once every year if Max Verstappen wins the F1 championship or something like that. Thans for another great review Tim, keep up the excellent work.
Me alegra escuchar sus atributos y estoy contigo un tallo que cueste $100 debería poseer más de 95% en todas las características que componen un buen Tallo.- Tenía que ser PLASENCIA.-
Tim I have to ask if have ever tried Padilla lost chapter. I was lucky enough to come across a cigar when I first got in to cigars probably five or six years ago. After watching your review, and the mentioning of the region, where the tobaccos came from I realize it’s the same region. I think it would be worth a try for $10 a stick. I’m watching your review and smoking one now to see how the flavor notes compare anyways. Cheers thanks for all the great content.
Well, I’ve spent a C-note on worse things…. Do we get an excuse note from the staff for purchasing one of these? Because this would be one hell of a story to explain to your significant other…. Lol
Please do a review of the new pledge of allegiance! I picked a few up (searched forever) and would love to hear your thoughts on it. Waiting til the 4th to smoke it.
Nice. I remember when paying over $10 or $20 was a pain. I workrd hard, grew old, and $100 cigars now get promos. 😂 i feel like a kid again, wanting to spend casino credits buying smokes, except even then i got a meal at the restaurant instead. 😅
That looks great... Would really like to get my hands on one of them but then I have to think about the fact that if I were to buy one here in Canada where I live... It would go like this. 100$ US is 138$ Can, then add the tobacco tax of 80% which brings it up to 248$ can, then add the margin that the seller will have to make, and I would estimate this stick to sell for over 350$. Sadly, this is too much for my budget... But one can dream.
Well the price is dictated by rarity if the tobacco, time aging, and production of the packaging. This cigar has all of that. The exclusive rare tobacco from that island, the hand blown glass tubos, the leather, the box, there’s a lot more going on, than your typical 8-10 dollar cigar. So you have to pay for that. That’s part of the experience of owning it. Is it marketing, well yeah probably 90% of it is, but you still have to have some left for the cigar itself. And I think it delivers about a 80 dollar experience. Leaving the rest to the marketing.
Just like a well aged fine spirit. Once in awhile you just gotta do it. It seems like you are getting a bit more enjoyment from this $100 stick than you would from the $300 to $500 plus Cubans.
out of curiosiity .. when you do a review on a cigar, have you smoke the same one a few times first..? . I find i need to smoke a few of the same to get a good idea of what to expect abouts. but, theres never $100 in any cigar
The cigar is very good but not worth $100.00/ea. The reason it costs that much is the magnetic tube packing and the humidor that they come in. Take those factors away and that cigar could be sold for maybe $50.00/ea. You can smoke pretty much any of the other Plasencia sticks for far less and they're just as good! I bought 2 just to try and by all means I'm not bashing them, just stating the facts that I mentioned of why they are so expensive.
Unfortunately my palette is not good enough to fully appreciate a $100 cigar. Not to mention the cost of a divorce if I spent that much money on a single cigar It just not worth 1/2 my house😂
I'm not one to spend that on one cigar. I've had a unicorn but I can't see doing it again. My wife may see this video and get one for me. I won't complain
I’d smoke it if someone bought it for me. But 100 bucks for one stick is a stretch. The Blackbird Cuco or Cactus Wren is probably 10 times better for 7 bucks a stick.
I was so unimpressed by this cogar that im surprised you gave it a 97. It was good just not worth the money i thought the Rocky Patel Conviction was better. Different pallets 🤷🏻♂️
If I decided to pay $100 for a cigar it would probably be this one and I would probably, almost certainly, have to buy a box. I know, I know…but that’s just me. Excellent review, Tim. Tough job but somebody has gotta do it, right?
So they made a $40 cigar and put it in a humidor that unless you bought the whole box, you pay for and don’t get. I don’t care how good the cigar is, it can’t possibly be better than some of the best cigars I’ve ever had in the $20-$30 range. No thanks
I have purchased Padron Black's which are over $100 but worth every penny as well as LA Union (Tatuaje/My Father's Cigar) $177 and worth every penny. Atabey Black Rinos are over $100 / cigar and worth every penny.... Placencia Ometepes ARE NOT WORTH $100
@@TheFitz1911damn where do you live? I get your argument but here in Dallas… Padron Black $40, La union $60 (now discounted to $49) and Black Ritos $80. Order from us.
Not interested in $100 cigars, it just doesn’t mean anything to me. The hyper “premium-azation” of everything means that you lose grasp on what constitutes normal/good. I can practically have a box or more of things I smoke regularly and derive plenty of enjoyment. Pass.
