Awesome! I’ve been very curious about this, and Internet Knowledge would suggest you can’t do it without special gas. You say it’s pretty clean, eh? Clean enough to leave an exposed edge with minimal file cleanup? I’ve got a big aluminum sheetmetal project, and I’ve been hoping the Crossfire Pro could handle it. You just made my day, sir. 👍🏼👍🏼
What were your cut settings for this? Cool video btw im getting ready to do some cnc plasma cutting with aluminum and was wondering if just regular air from my compressor is okay or if i need a certain type of gas or if just a fine cutting tip will do?
This was at 45amp and 100ipm. Its 1/8" 5052 alum. I just use regular air from my compressor with a water trap just before the plasma cutter. It gets me an edge that welds very well with minimal cleanup.
Either your controller isn't configured right and/or your hardware is out of wack. If the pitch of the lead screws for x or y is set wrong, you'll get incorrect geometry. Also if your X gantry isn't square to your Y axis, you'll get wonky geometry.
