Epic footage!

Absolutely wonderful footage Jay (especially the fiery acrylic...I bet that smelled great), I've always been curious how SSTCs look in slow motion! If you ever get the chance to fire up a Phantom again, I'd be curious to know if you see the individual 250kHz resonant pulses flickering around at 500,000 fps (sort of like how you can see the flicker of 60Hz lighting in slow mo). Great video as always, keep it up man!

Oh my, that is a seriously fantastic capture. From the pictures I thought it was propane never dreamed it was acrylic getting ablated by the heat of the arc.

Such a great video Jay! So cool seeing how slowed down there is still a pause before the current strikes. I can totally smell the burnt hair and skin from here. (Quite familiar with that smell unfortunately, lol) Really cool watching the fire from burning plexiglass mixed with the sparks. And here I didn't think high voltage could get cooler! Lol

What is the reason behind the plasma discharge splitting into 120°, 90° or sometimes 72° Leaders? Is it due to the frequency of the supply output? Also, in the reduced speed frames of the skin cells becoming vaporized, it would be interesting to know if there is a voltage draw from the rest of your skin? And the measurement of the dielectric breakdown at the contact point. Is the contact point your actual skin or is it within the frequency zone of your body 🤔 How large is the heat affected zone? Instead of using plastic, could you use a sheet of glass?

I think that filming suxh a fast event than an electric spark with a high speed camera is a brilliant idea. Thank you. Please more ! ! !

Good job Jay. This is the exact reason I used to do storm chasing in the Midwest, getting video footage of lightning to slow down. Watching a bolt develop across the sky over the period of a couple of seconds, versus the blink of an eye, is one of the most beautiful things nature has to offer. Sidenote, don't use aluminum tripods when filming storms. In one encounter I had a streamer shoot up towards the sky from my tripod during a very close strike. It wasn't until I slowed the footage down the next day that I realized how lucky I was to still be alive.

That is cool how it always branches out 3 to 4 branches at a time. Is that similar to how lightning branches out it many directions until it “finds a path?” It reminds me of the double slit experiment, it doesn’t pick a path until it’s measured. (I’m sure I’m not describing it correctly)

Excellent footage, man. Those phantoms really do wonders for this kind of content. To me, plasma looks like life. It's been said before that fire is almost like a living thing; it breathes oxygen, consumes fuel to survive, and requires heat to sustain itself. "Seeing" electricity is beautiful. Seeing "life" in that representation, is breathtaking, and I'm sure it always will be for me.

Absolutely astounding. When I see content like this and how few views it got it really makes me hate the algorithm, how can anyone not find this cool and interesting.. you deserve a mil+ subs for sure, been watching you for a while and it genuinely depresses me seeing how much work you put into your videos vs others who are lazy and produce half assed content and how little recognition you get for it while they're swimming in subs, blows my mind. Keep it up dude, I have no doubt that one day you will get there. You should try and do more colabs, maybe that would help get more views/subs

Wow this is quite awesome! Sorry it took so long to get to your video. I had 270 videos in my watch later list and I'm just getting down to the last videos that are 11 days old. It would be pretty cool to see a slow motion of a vaporization of skin cells at 1,000,000 frames per second. I'm interested in seeing just what goes on. That along with arcs. Very well done video. And also thank you for the osciliscope a while back ago. It has seen lots of use and I have used it on a welding machine I'm making. I'm making a TIG welding machine with microwave oven transformers. I first started with an AC stick machine and since then I made an AC and DC stick machine and a plasma cutter and now I'm making a TIG machine AC and DC out of microwave oven transformers. It's pretty cool. And the osciliscope has seen lots of use. I love it so thank you. Also I loved the additional Jay in the video. Hahaha! Can't wait for the next video! Can you do some videos on microwave oven transformers in series and some capacitor configurations and what they do? It has been sort of looked at back in 2015 and 2016 but I'd like to see a refreshed version and maybe you might find a better way of doing what was done 7 years ago. Take a look at the king of random video on the microwave oven transformer.

The high speed slo mo of the plasma was breathtaking. Thanks for the video science lab. I had a pen.and notepad in one hand and a bag of ftesh popped Orville Reddenbacher in the other. Excellent cinematography. Darn i.sure do miss my Dr. Frankenstein dungeon i called home while at Lockheed Martin. Youve made engineering retirement for me.a little easier i guess. I have a son.that turns 39 in.December. He has an " attention to detail" swagger about him that makes me glad that he cares about the blessings he's earned in life. I liked the plasma globe. It sort of looked like the live entrapment of the COSMIC version of the Covid Genome that is the alien equivalent of the proverbial Queen Bee that mothered all those other lil god forsakened microscopic nightmares.

How does on create a plasma ball with two electrodes one on either side. There's glass blowers all over the city that make glass for headshops. The end goal a make shift rife machine.you could make a series of videos on how to build the pieces.

Amazing. Now we see the plasma spicules. The amount of spicules or tufts depends on the surface area. And we can compare those three small tufts to the solar plasma tubes known as spicules. This may be a fun experiment but to me it reaffirms the electric universe. Change your plasma ball for a SAFIRE 3 phase 480 plasma ball. Then you will get voltage striation in the atmosphere.
