Thanks for sharing! I'm taking a mold making class this semester and have successfully made one mold so far!

Get a big plastic leaf bag and a rubber band to keep your large bags of plaster in. And a hand sander without any sandpaper in it will vibrate stuff really good.

Before pouring the clay you can use the vacuum pump in order to get rid of air bubbles :D

Great job Emily! those molds looks great, i recomend you to mix your plaster with a mixer or stick because if you mixed with your hands the plaster start the reaction earlier for the heat of your hands, and if it warm in your area try to use the coldest water that you have. keep it up i hope youre doing well!

When calculating the volume, wouldn't it be faster and better to fill the mold with sand and then take the sand to a bucket and see the amount you need?.

To measure the volume of plaster required for casting into a mold you need: Place the form on the scale and reset the weight to zero. Fill the entire volume with water and get the weight. Multiply this weight of water by the density of the gypsum. Enjoy. Чтобы измерить объем необходимого гипса для литья в форму вам нужно: Поставить форму на весы и сбросить вес на ноль.
