Well I am surprised. I would never have thought a Continental looked good in Buttercup Yellow. It looks stunning and the finish on the seats is amazing.

I was hesitant but I liked how it turned out.

Actually a quick check w/a good coffee-table book referencing Ford history reveals '65 Lincoln more closely approximates the '65 Mercury's grill & bodyside styling than any other year model. Of course we built ours as a bone-stock Continental convertible, that's what we do, build stock kits. But I wish we'd bought 2. As soon as we find another one of these kits that's less than $75 (you've unboxed & built yours, you KNOW this kit's not worth a penny over $25) we've decided we're going to knock off as close to a '65 Mercury Colony Park wagon as we can. Painting the glass wagon top body color, wood paneling sides, & relocating rear door handles on stationary suicide doors isn't an insurmountable degree of work & given the rarity of '65 Colony Park in real life & non-existence in scale-model world, we think it would be a worthwhile & interesting addition to our builds. I'll update you & let you know how it turns out, My Friend.👍😉 P.S. All '65 Linc w/top up I remember were a hardtop (it's hinged & folds into trunk). You'd have to fashion that from "wagon top" in kit.

Just bought my first three kits today from a new shop in my town......saw this Lincoln on the shelf but went went for the '66 Ford Galaxie,'66 Chevy Nova and a '66 Mercury.....this will be the closest I will be to owning classic American cars ever.Cheers from Down Under

This is a kit I might not consider but your build turned out so well, I might pick one up if I see it again.👍 The Testors Yellow looks fine; I saw that Palomino Leather look on the Rustoleum rack at Lowes today. You did an excellent job with the Bare Metal Foil, BTW. I know you only build stock models (Why?) but I'd be tempted to chop the windshield about 1/4" and integrate that behind the seats cowl

... cowl from that T-Bird you did not too long ago.

I’ve never used bare metal foil. I just don’t care for custom cars. Never did. I can appreciate them at a car show but I’m much more impressed by a stock showroom beauty.

I kitbashed this with the Monkeemobile . .... MonkeemoLincoln. Yours didn't have the telephone or reel tape deck? Bummer!

I considered it if I got a second kit but it’s not a real car anyway and I’m more stock than custom.

I so want a hardtop version of this to be released by some model company. I'd like to re-create the Lincoln from The Matrix. But that might be possible with a 3D printer? Great overview and what a nice build!

Seeing as they gave the wagon roof, I wouldn’t think it would be that hard to include a hardtop as well. Obviously it wouldn’t be as nice as a ground-up version but better than nothing. I wish they gave a convertible top at least.

Nice build, but next time, shoot some "B" roll, and use that as insert close-ups when editing, so as you talk about the kit, you have some of those shots to break up from the one long-held shot. Just curious...what software do you use to edit with?
@Kryptosmaster
@Kryptosmaster 4 года назад
Since Christmas I’ve been using Final Cut Pro. Still learning it. Before that was one that started with an M (I can’t recall at the moment). Before that nothing.

@@Kryptosmaster I use Premiere Pro. I'm not a Mac guy. lol What camera do you use? I use a Panasonic HVX200 HD pro cam. I'm planning to get a Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4K soon.

Impressive result considering, I'm sure, the age of these molds. Too bad that, as they pass the molds around, they delete necessary accessories and include unnecessary ones. The wagon would be an interesting addition to one's collection, a "what if" sort of thing. Front grill looks exactly like my uncle's '64 Mercury Montclair, purchased new in February of that year; made me smile! By the way, the "Kat" decal... a '60's customizer by the name of Bud "The Kat" Anderson, if I recall correctly. He became a spokesperson for AMT back in the golden years of plastic modeling. Great job!

Yeah the amt Kat was in all the comic book ads in the 60s.

I found these kits at the flea market recently. Never saw this specific one prior, but I love this one. I would personally build the wagon.

Can you please do a video on how to paint a model car, cause when yours come out they come out amazing. I have only made two and the paint does not come out as good as yours.
@Kryptosmaster
@Kryptosmaster 5 лет назад
I have the absolute worst luck painting. You don’t want any tips from me. LOL
@Agent-cy5yb
@Agent-cy5yb 4 года назад
Do you wash your parts with water and a little dish soap? That removes all grease and dust. Also look up hydro dipping, it is a faster way of painting, the results are no streaks or runs or heavy spots and you use way less paint.
