PLEASE pin my comment about the dangers of using Ozempic and having any surgery or other procedure done using general anesthesia!!! Ozempic and similar meds work by slowing gastric emptying. Surgery patients are usually told to fast and not drink liquids for at least 12 hours prior to surgery under general anesthesia, mostly to avoid the patient vomiting and aspirating stomach contents into their lungs. However, a patient using Ozempic will NOT have an empty stomach after 12 hours!!! As I mentioned in my original comment, I learned this from an anesthesiologist on RU-vid who did a warning video on this subject. Because Ozempic slows the emptying on the stomach, it takes MUCH MUCH longer for the stomach of a patient taking Ozempic to have an empty stomach. This Dr showed the volume of stomach contents which he had suctioned from the stomach of a surgery patient taking Ozempic who had fasted for 12 hours- there were liters of stomach content, including corrosive stomach acid! The danger here is that a surgery patient taking Ozempic will still have a large volume of stomach content even after fasting, and if the patient vomits while under anesthesia and aspirates the vomit, they can end up SEVERELY burning their lungs from the corrosive stomach acid! This anesthesiologist recounted actual cases of this horrible situation occurring. PLEASE warn anyone using Ozempic to discuss this with their doctor and surgeon PRIOR to having general anesthesia. I take Wegovy (the same drug as Ozempic, just more expensive 🙄), and I was SO glad I saw that video!!! I have been considering some elective surgery, and this scared me SO badly!!!

So I live in the country. There are a lot of snails. They surecrete this yellowish slime that you cannot get off your hands, or cat food bowls. That stuff just does not go away, even with soap. It's crazy how much it can stick to you and make a barrier so nothing can get through, not even soap. I was wondering what kind of stuff you can do with a slime barrier that nothing can get through. Maybe for burn victims to keep the burn from being infected while sealing in moisture for healing.

In Belgium, our health care minister (the federal one, because we have 6 total governments, no joke even) made the ruling of no ozempic unless you are diabetic, and the pharmacists will not sell it to you unless you are diabetic. There was a huge shortage on the market here because everyone and their mama was trying to get it for weight loss ending up with diabetics not able to get their medication.
@grumpyoldlady_rants

I think the reason it’s sold here in the US for weight loss is most insurance won’t cover the cost, even for a lot of diabetics. Plus, it’s about $900 a month. Most people can’t afford that out of pocket.

When I see advertisements on TikTok or RU-vid, I take it with a grain of salt. I think the ad that I really found offensive were two doctors on RU-vid promoting rib removal for a smaller waist. A good reliable doctor will explain the importance of keeping you ribs, to protect your vital organs.

I wish this plastic surgery trend would slow down but it seems like it’s happening on younger and younger patients. I had a Septo/Rhinoplasty for an accident in childhood where I smashed face first on my nose in to the concrete floor and had a severely messed up nose for about 25 years, and last year I had to have a revision because my nasal tip was starting to almost twist making one nostril bigger and different from the other, and I had one side that was all blocked off so they reconstructed my nasal valve. I was made fun of constantly in high school and felt so ugly that it just dominated my thoughts almost. I for once felt normal after the surgery even though it wasn’t perfect because I still have a larger nose. The hump is gone and the boxy tip is gone and it looks so much better than it did. I had to have a Cadaver rib graft this time to fix the tip because there wasn’t anything left for cartilage because it got used up with the first surgery. I don’t like how they’re making people literally scared to age which is not healthy at all. I don’t care who you are but everyone ages, some better than others. They make it sound just horrible and it’s hard to have constant commercials pushing crap at us women in our 50’s who have gone through Menopause which really changes your face quite rapidly, and it takes some getting used to. I love this doctor’s caring and realistic nature. He has such great advice and makes me feel better for just being a “normal”woman.

People always say my face looks way younger than I am. Like 10 years younger. It's weird. I don't have great skin but no wrinkles yet. Anyway, it's probably because I hardly ever go out in the sun. Us gingers have to be super careful. Unfortunately it also means I need to take vitamin D supplements. That's ok with me though.

We sound very similar. I was never a sun lover, and the sun never loved me either. The very few times I didn't wear a hat or sunscreen, I looked like a cooked lobster afterward. I have pretty nice skin and no wrinkles, but because I don't go out in the sun, I have to take vitamin D and calcium supplements. My mother was the same, and she had beautiful skin and no wrinkles when she passed at 66, so maybe genetics help. Like you said, it's okay with me, and I'm almost 69 in November.

🌟PLEASE PIN COMMENT!!!PLEASE BE AWARE - if you are using Ozempic or similar drugs, and will have an operation done under general anesthesia, you HAVE to stop Ozempic several WEEKS before surgery. Ozempic works by slowing down the emptying of your stomach. Surgeons have people fast at least 12 hours prior to general anesthesia to avoid the possibility of the patient vomiting and aspirating stomach contents into their lungs. A patient taking Ozempic will STILL have significant stomach contents even after fasting for 12 hours. I actually just watched a video by a licensed anesthetist discussing this subject. He had suctioned the contents of the stomach of a surgery patient who was on Ozempic. He suctioned the stomach contents before the patient was operated on. Although the patient had been fasting for at least 12 hours, a huge amount of stomach contents (including HIGHLY ACIDIC stomach acid) was suctioned from the stomach. If that patient had vomited while under anesthesia and aspirated those contents, he would have actually BURNED his lungs from the stomach acid!! In fact, during this video, the Dr recounted stories of this EXACT scenario occurring, and surgery patients who ended up getting SEVERELY burned lungs! So PLEASE discuss with your doctor and surgeon about being on Ozempic (or similar meds like Wegovy and Mounjaro) BEFORE undergoing any procedure requiring general anesthesia!

@2:25 when I had my appendix removed, I woke from surgery, and literally yelled to my mom "I'm blind! I can't see!" 😅 I was only 18, and I really thought I was blind lol. It was very disorienting not to be able to see. I was obviously fine a little while later... but it was scary in the moment!

Dr.Youn may I chime in on the subject of Ozempic please! I was diagnosed with type two diabetes almost 17 years ago and with proper medication and exercise my condition stabilised very quickly! However in the meantime I had two pretty bad accidents which left me with serious mobility issues and a lot of anxiety whereby my diabetes went totally out of control! My diabetes specialist prescribed me Ozempic at the beginning of 2023 and because very unethical doctors were prescribing it to undiabetic people just for weight loss it caused a huge shortage of the medication here in Ireland, ergo it took several months for me to get my hands on it! So for all you non diabetics out there please if you have a weight problem go to a professional dietitian and get on a proper diet instead of depriving us real diabetics of our much needed medication! Thank you 🙏🏻! Px

The scalp popping is very scary. To cure my headaches, I will reach my fingers into the roots of my hair where the headache is at, grab all the hair I can and twist it left or right until it's tight. Then let it go when I feel it release. No popping, no pain. Easy and it helps.

Don’t use osempic. It causes nausea, sickness. And when you’re hungry, your brain can produce enough stimulants for moods. You’ll get angry, upset, and worse, depressed… it’s not worth it. And once you stop, your appetite comes back, and you will for sure get your weight back.

And all the diabetics in your life will have OPINIONS. I’m diabetic, wish they would stop prescribing this medication for weight loss. Diabetics NEED the medication to prevent serious complications from uncontrolled blood sugar. We are going to be on these medicines for life. Making them harder to obtain because folks are fat phobic is just infuriating.

@@liz9843Ozempic was made to force type 2 diabetics’s A1C down by weight loss. GLP-1 agonists are not life saving medications, and you have plenty of options. No sympathy here, you put yourself in this position by a life of poor health habits- you aren’t allowed to try and control what others do. From a physicians point-of-view, Ozempic prescription = I can’t control my food intake and I’ve destroyed my glycemic drive by abusing insulin. It’s ridiculous that type 2 diabetics take so much insulin from type 1 diabetics, who didn’t have a choice in this. Ozempic would be extremely helpful for type 1 diabetics, but it isn’t approved for treatment.

I just want to say thank you for speaking up about the cosmetic side of the use of Ozempic. I have taken it before as well as similar meds and I am currently on one now for Type 2 diabetes. You have no idea how irritating it is as a diabetic to have to go through hoops with the insurance company to get them to approve my medication every single year, because doctors are prescribing it for vanity reasons. Like I'm not denying that an overweight person without diabetes, who has trouble dieting and loosing weight, doesn't need the extra help as well..... but it's extemely frustrating for those with diabetes to have to go the extra mile to get the medication. And on top of the extra mile, it's hard to find it in stock at times.

That's an old time use of lipstick, usually red. Which was the only color around I think for years cause I have an original tube of pink. My granny called it Rouge, but there was an actual product by that name too,, red. Anyway it still works today in a pinch even with ingredients drastically over the years. FYI, back when horses were sold to glue factories horses hooves were used to make lipstick 💄.

When I woke up after facelift surgery I was mostly blind from the goop that was in my eyes. I was so confused and terrified that I had gone blind but I could not articulate it. It seemed like they woke me up and put me in the car to be driven home. Probably 12 hours later I figured out it was an ointment in my eyes.

Would be even happier to have a 34 C, back still aches but i would be unhealthily thin if i lost anymore (5'6, 126).
