You guys should snap a picture after each coat and put them all side by side so people know how many coats to do for the finish they are looking for. It would also help to see the true progression of the change in color.

Can I use glossifier on my dog after he takes a bath? It's seems like every time I wash him his color fades and I want him to have a nice shiny gloss look for the dog show.

@ austin You want to spray the glossifier a bit closer than the usual spray distance for a more smooth and even finish or it'll texture up some

just a little trick for painting wheels, get a lazy suzan, cut a piece of plywood large enough to support the wheel, glue or screw the plywood to the top of the lazy suzan and just spin the wheel while you paint. makes painting wheels easier. awesome vids!

yes you can add a top coat of glossifier anytime, no matter how old the bottom coat is. it will still just bond to the bottom coat and be the same as applying it fresh.

Benjamin Hamel one can per rim but i was able to get away with 3 cans for my 4, but my rims are 16” (truck) and glossifier ive read 2 coats is enough cuz 4 is hazy, soo 2 cans should be enough if you do a lot, but 1 can should be enough for some gloss

It is kinda like clear coat and that it adds an additional layer to the plastiDip making it a stronger finish. It also peels just as easy as colored plastiDip.

dude read the replies, if its plasti dip glossifier yes, the whole point of plastidip is the ability for it to be removed. Alot of car show guys will use the clear if they have to drive a vehicle on the highway or to a show and then will peel it off when they get to their destination.

Thanks for the reply, its much more difficult to spray on the car and even if i do what happens when i have to rotate my tires? The plastidip peels abit where the lugnuts touch and i was super delicate taking the wheels off

now mount a tire and watch the damage occur ... very few machines and people can mount a tire and not screw up the dip around the edges .. unless I'm clueless to a particular method . I always dip mine with tire mounted

I think as long as your careful it’ll be fine. If any damage does occur it will only where the lugs touch the wheel. Which doesn’t matter since it’s always covered.

@@LongRangeDesertGroupX ☝️This! This is exactly what happened when I tried to have mine mounted. Scared the crap out of the tire techs, lol. They thought the machine was eating my rim at first. I've heard it can be done, but your tech needs to know beforehand. From what I hear, most will turn down the job unless you ok it with them to mess it up.

I just asked this question but with the gloss from the website and if you use that with the dip it will come right off as normal, but if you use some other type of glossifier i've heard it doesn't come off as well like when he did a video on it

yes you can use the home depot dip, but its just black, not gloss black, so it will be a base black, depends on the look you want

In the video, the clear appears to be more rough then the strait flat black. Does this smooth out as it cures? Also, how long do you wait for the flat black to cure before spraying the clear coat or glossifier?

Like staticsleet stated, i figured i would do a test wheel today. I had 5 coats of black and after they cured i hit it with a coat of glossifier. First off this video shows the black in a much lighter matte finish, almost a silver color. I did get results but it looks nothing like the video satin finish, its much darker than that. I will order the anthracite kit though :) as that is most likely the result i am looking for. "Carbon Color"

What about the inside of the rim. Do you tap that off or spray that as well. Going from Silver to black wouldnt really want to show the inside silver.

They recommend you use the paint gloss they have on website. Due to the fact that other gloss finishes will not allow you to peel off paint if need be in the future.

If you spray the plasti dip and glossifier without taking off the wheels, can you do it over the lug nuts or should I cover them? Because if I were to take them off later, wouldn't it peel/mess up the plasti dip?

That's what I've heard but it's when people put spray paint glossifier like Krylon over plastidip. That will make it more difficult to peel.

I use it all the time I completely understand how durable it is but all the tire machine has to do is catch it the right way and it's going to lift. I've used this stuff for my car bumper, rims, even my downhill mountain bike rims. I know how durable it is but it just takes a small nick in around the lip and it's peeling up.

So after you put a few coats of plastic dip on..it's easy to remove after it drys you can peel it right off the rim if you get board or if you don't like it ...but after you add the coats of gloss is it still as easy as it was before even after the gloss?

Can't say I'm a big fan, Flat black plasti looks great, glossifier looks like a bad paint job. I think in this case, better to paint, clear, cut and buff. To each his own though.

qq. the nice thimg about plastidip is that you can easily remove that later if you get bored or if you wanna try something different. qiestion is is still easy to rwmove after the gloss coats? I guess ues ciase plasti dip coat is first but good to ask. O also wonder if you work shipping to po box. I used a miami po box to import this to my country

I want to do racing stripes and then glossify them. From what I understand you are supposed to remove the tape when the plasti-dip is wet so it doesn't peel off. How would I do this since it seems that I need to wait for the plasti-dip to dry in order to apply glossifier?
