That is cool to study geology and other disciplines. I personally believe in the Noah's flood and the Bible. Scientists around the world has been confirming the Biblical flood with supercomputer models and with the Hydroplate theory, which rivals with this one of "millions of years" :P above described. The Bible stands alone. Also, you guys can check on you tube "Catastrophic Plate Tectonics - Key to Understanding the Genesis Flood, Dr. PhD John Baumgardne"

you didn't really say what happens when ridges form on land. so does it get filled up with molten material and form mountains just like the mid ocean ridges or does it just become this huge crack? LOVED THE VIDEO BY THE WAY ♥️
@HafsaBobat
@HafsaBobat 4 года назад
On land you get rift valleys forming as the lithosphere is extended and stretched and blocks of rock drop down along fault lines to create valleys. Eventually the valley is filled with water (since its a low area) and a new ocean starts to form. Hope this helps!
@amandacoleman9034
@amandacoleman9034 3 года назад
@@HafsaBobat yes that’s right. It’s called continental rift. But everything has a life cycle. Eventually oceans close up, continents meet and build mountains. A good example of oceans closing up and mountain buildings are the Tethys sea and the Himalayan mountains. A good example of an ocean being created in the continental rift forming Africa

Great video until 8:10 .... several major inaccuracies here: 1 - the mantle is NOT magma (molten rock), it is solid rock; the magma on the diagram is the little red spots under the plate boundaries 2 - convection currents in the mantle do NOT move the plates; on the contrary, it is the plates sinking under the force of gravity that drives mantle convection 3 - a hotspot is not "an area where magma comes close to the crust" (this sentence doesn't actually make sense); a hotspot is the surface expression of a mantle plume - a narrow area of hot, solid mantle rock flowing up from deep within the mantle, possibly from the core-mantle boundary. Hope this helps!

Nice explanations....up until the end (!?!) 1. Earth's convecting interior is NOT magma. It is solid rock. (S wave earthquake vibrations go through this area and they only go through solids.) 2. Hawaii IS a hot spot. That phrase means " a place with a massive amount of lava." Hot spots form on top of mantle plumes. That's the correct term for what's happening inside of Earth. Hope this prevents confusion.

+Vsevolod koudriavtsev you are actually the first person on RU-vid who was actually respectful of someone else's religious beliefs. Respectfully disagreeing, most youtuber's can't do that. I don't know why I can't believe in God and Big Bang and evolution. The Catholic Church actually supports these theories as possibilities. I hate how some people associate religion with ignorance to science
@JohnzeeMr
@JohnzeeMr 9 лет назад
very nice it explains the theory we have on tectonic plates but only theories, Snowden has files regarding the earth about gravity, atmosphere, tectonic plates and this does not come even close!
@number1zoog
@number1zoog 9 лет назад
How do you know that Snowden has said files and if he does how the heck do you know what they are and why would he not have leaked them since he has leaked all of the files on the NSA and if he has leaked them where can I find them and basically what you said has no base in fact and is complete nonsensical speculation about nothing at all.
@JohnzeeMr
@JohnzeeMr 9 лет назад
number1zoog duhh, obviously I don't want to get in trouble so you have to find it and do some hacking yourself. The truth behind the Pangaea, tectonic stuff-dude you actually believe the soil can support the mass of an entire tectonic plate, and those fossil evidence, even about NASA's programs, a combination of different government department findings and secret programs, its all there.

I'm wondering, in view to the graphics, if there might be a connection to the increased earthquake activity, and the global ice cap melting. It seems that previous reports of ocean levels rising has not happened, but could the increased weight of the billions of gallons of water tonnage might be compressing the ocean plates, and shifting them beneath the continental plates to equalize the pressure differences? The water has to go somewhere, and less weight on the polar caps could justify shifts.

The "motion" arrows on many of the maps presented show only what is assumed, not what is verified by observation. The observed motions bear little resemblance to the predictions of "plate tectonics" and in fact are inexplicable in terms of "continental plates" all moving as a monolith. Often ground stations report CONFLICTING motion (both rate and direction) of adjacent stations very near by, inexplicable in the context of "plate tectonics".

When checking the World map it looks as though the combined length of the subduction zones is less than half the combined length of the spreading ridges. This should mean that the seafloor is being subducted more than twice as fast as it is coming out from the spreading ridges. It then surprises me a lot that the subduction zones aren't even interconnected like the spreading ridges -- because parts of the seafloor should be breaking up and make a mess around the edges of the subduction zones. No such mess is drawn on the map. I wonder why.
@ducoo6212
@ducoo6212 6 лет назад
you are right, sudbuction theory is not possible!! as simple is that! it just doesn´t make sense if you go into detail about this topic! so there have to be another explanation, even if it sounds weird it has to be the expanding theory. this just explains reasonable the whole process and it gives us an answer to the future.. best prove is the pacific ocean which was created in the last 200million years because of the fire ring which is the strongest part of the seafloor ridge system around the planet. this would also mean earth was 200mill years ago half of the mass of today, the atmosphere was turned around everything was big, giants, as it stretched it become thinner and finer but at one point earths rotation and mass should stop this process, we probably reached already this point.. but from here on scientist need to overtake this work..
