Yeah! and sometimes they come in white or black colour, so it will cover the blue of the plates, it gives a little extra protection and keeps the plates still.
@@ExtraordinaireThe it's been a few months, but I did want to put it out there that plates certified for standalone performance don't need soft armor or non-ballistic trauma pads. Also you might want to look into those elastic plate socks if you're worried about the blue showing through a future maritime plate carrier. Unless you plan on putting together a 10x12-style soft armor setup, I'd lean towards finding some kind of closed cell foam filler to keep weight and cost to a minimum. For public reference reference: Soft armor is only strictly necessary for ICW plates to achieve the listed rating, and nonballistic trauma pads are an upselling device for companies who market target steel as armor. Leaving aside the freedom to buy whatever you want, people whose priorities are just now *thinking* about an armor purchase (so definitely not you!) will likely find other expenses with more marginal benefit than armor. Goes without saying that anyone with a day job involving boolet will have different priorities.
I suggest you putting the foam in front of the plates so it adds some shock protection to the plates that are surely ceramic ones, and not behind (as also regular foam can’t replace a proper 3a anti trauma insert, even with stand alone plates)
Extraordinaire well, I tried to find 8x10 swimmer cut 3a inserts, and it does not exists (or its Chinese bullshit duh)

I run DKX lvl3 in the front of my JPC 2.9 lbs and floats. 3a DKX pistol plate in the back. Nice setup brother! Cut up a rubber mud flap or something that won't hold water for protecting that ceramic from impact. I run dyneema lvl 3 on sides also.
Hey man! What did you end up using to snug up those 8x10’s with the small JPC? I was running a set of Hoplite 10x12 (med) in the JPC, which fit extra snug/stretched, but I actually measure for a small plate. I ended up getting my 8x10’s in which cover me perfectly and have a significant weight reduction, but obviously need something to fit snug in the JPC as there’s some wiggle room. Thanks!
Bro did you pick those off Instagram because I got those same exact plates, couldn’t have ask for a more exact video, appreciate it! Looking for a carrier for 8x10’s
You might wanna get the First Spear plate backers or whatever they're called. They make it a lot more comfortable and technically add some trauma protection
@@JuiiceTheBox Military swimmer's cut plates and carriers run on a different sizing than SAPIs. They use plates made by LTC, and most sizings aren't on the civilian market.
