Question: 1. How tall are you? I’m 5’5” tall. 2. Is the plate carrier detachable, like can it detach from the back side? I’m planning to do a custom request order from Crye Precision to do a swimmers cut front side plate carrier with a sapi cut back side plate carrier.
@@jonsam7157 the difference between sapi cut and swimmer cut is that with swimmers cut plates you’ll be able to shoulder your rifle better, comfortably, more arm mobility, and the plates are a bit lighter than spai cuts.
@@jonsam7157 spai cut plate carrier can fit in sapi cut and swimmers cut but swimmers cuts plates in a sapi cut plate carrier, you’ll be having extra material in the way of shouldering your rifle. Martime plate carriers are the same just that it’s a bit more lightweight & I think allows better airflow due to the mesh.

Figure out if you want single or multi curve. Level IV vs a special threat plate like the L210s. Weight, etc. r/tacticalgear and just googling reddit ballistics plates in general are some good jumping off points. Reno May also has a pretty good breakdown of what to look for in plates. Good luck in your search.
