(Apologies for the attention grabbing kinda title, but I hope the content of the lesson actually delivers on the promise.) In this video I'm talking about phrasing, and I give you an easy to implement strategy for adding more rhythmic interest to your solos.

Thank you for this video(and all your others of course)!!! I've been feeling lost with getting better at making sounds or melodies using different rhythms like triplets but this video helped me feel like I'm back on track, and for that I'll always be extremely grateful. Thanks!!!!!

YOU ADRIAN, never have to apologize for anything like that. Your work (tutorials) is very authentic! Whether your titles are attention grabbing or not, they are worth everything in Gold!. Anyone ever accuses you of attention grabbing video titles, should only talk when they can play as good as you. It's not like your not backing up what your saying, because you are one of the best on here Adrian, and thank you for you.

Funny coincidence, I am taking a break from trying to pry the pickup covers off the pickups on my Squier version of your Jazzmaster. They glued them together! Got the first one after about 15 minutes with a tiny pry bar and Xacto knife. When I get the new, aged white covers on and put it all together again, I'll give this lesson a try. I'm sure the new covers will give me a better sound.

Great concept to keep in mind, Adrian, for variety in licks. Also, the delay in front of the overdrive is something I've never seen, reminds me of the Steppenwolf sound. I will definitely try it.

Great lesson Adrian. I tend to do this automatically but it's definitely worth trying different varieties to spice up your solos. The famous intro to Little Willie John's "Need Your Love So Bad" as played by Peter Green comes in on the fourth beat so I count it in as one, two, three, go.

If I ever accidentally miss a target beat, I'll repeat the accident on the next measure to make it sound intentional. Strangely enough, this works with (some) missed notes too. It usually involves a bend (up) or a slide (down) to pull it off, but if you repeat it on the next measure, the crowd thinks it was intentional. (Shhh...)

This is so sensible Adrian. Start singing later in the beat. It changes the song. And gets me back on track of being an artist.

This sure is a simple trick and worth thinking about. I hope I remember it next time I go for a solo. Starting at the "4 &" strikes me as a slight surprise before the 1 beat. Meanwhile the start on the "3 &" comes across with a lazy feel that I really like.

Thanks for your lessons, great teacher!. One request please, for beginners you could make a tutorial of an easy solo for a typical 12 bars rock and roll, a little bit Chuck Berry style or Beatles in their rock and roll first period. Thanks again!!!

There's a fantastic Chuck Berry instrumental called "Guitar Boogie". I don't know that it is exactly "easy" throughout, but it's so good that Jeff Beck appropriated it and renamed it "Jeff's Boogie". Maybe that would be a good choice.
