A song written and recorded by country music artist Conway Twitty. It was released in February 1977 as the second single and title track from the album of the same title.
I appreciate you sir. It was the golden age of country music for me. I'm just really disappointed the sound that made country music a genre has been abandoned in exchange for repetitive, meaningless, cookie cutter garbage and is an embarrassment to those of us who know. But, fear not, its coming back!! 😃 👍
Good job singin'. Try to up grade your equipment your usin' if you can. Its puts out a distant sound to your track and vocal, like we're at the back of this huge room and struggling to hear. Keep working at it, THUMBS UP 👍
Thank you for your advice. I work alone often and sometimes you just can't find that sweet spot and post anyway, but it is time to upgrade. Thanks so much for listening.
To me, the song always ended unbalanced and incomplete. So I add a extra line before the last. Either “I miss the home I’ll never see” or “on the run but at least we’re free”. Then the closing “wonder if they think of me”.
I often wondered what he had done that prevented him from ever physically returning to his home and family. The guitar and the music it created had become his coping mechanism to deal with the separation from his family and the guilt of he himself causing it. Your additional lines fit quite well actually. Thanks for listening. I truly appreciate you!!
