*she literally just murdered her brother. It’s clear she suffers from paranoia schizophrenia. I have lived with a relative with paranoia schizophrenia everyone is trying to kill them even their own family. Me and my mom are in the medical field we tried treating him at home at first didn’t want to take medication because he thought my mom was trying to poison him. He felt like he was in a purgatory surrounded by demons and it was up to him to save the world. There are many films who have depictions of those who seem normal and the movie at first plays out in their perspective having the audience believing that what was going was what’s really going on but then you see the twist. At the end. Like a beautiful mind which was based on a true story. Shutter island is also a really good one. I have to mention I’ve had clinical rotations in psych and also worked In psych.* *So let’s dive back into the short film and break it down a little bit. There are certain clues that will tell you she’s having a psychotic break some need a reminder of their reality to bring them back but all need medication. So anyway in the tape which she clearly created during one of her psychotic episodes she clearly states she’s an agent and that she cannot let him escape. Now of course seeing his face will bring her back to reality because that’s her brother not a monster. Him revealing his face doesn’t automatically mean he’ll be set free. No the instructions were not to see him because she will forget and set him free. Now there are plot holes like how does he get out buuut plenty of people with normal build can bring their handcuffs from behind them by sliding their arms from underneath their behind and bring into the front. I’ve seen it done plenty of times. So she sees him and comes too right. He could have either escaped, attack her and take the hammer. He did neither. If that was your mother, father, sister, brother etc what would your reaction be??? Attack or calmly look into your loved one’s eyes try to calm them down. It was clearly routine it has happened before. Now this time she actually kills him. Remember she’s an agent (assuming federal) why wouldn’t she have a gun? Quit possibly she lost it buuut trust when I say this they tend too keep more then one in various places. In any case and maybe most importantly why would she react to blood and what she just done that way? Psychosis or not federal agents are trained to the point of muscle memory if she indeed is agent that works the field( they’re given guns) her being horrified at the side of blood wouldn’t be a normal reaction. lol her recordings were as if she was a sound, confident seasoned agent but her reaction at the end says otherwise and again if he’s this highly dangerous monster that can and will kill her and everyone else WHY DIDNT HE? He didn’t attack her. He grabbed her from behind so he wouldn’t get hit but he didn’t not attack when he could have. He sat calmly in front of her* *Again her reaction says it all but hey it’s a film a short one at that a lot of room for interpretation but in my opinion it had all the signs of someone who was mentally ill. One last thing there’s a misconception by most outside of the medical field who believe psychosis goes hand in hand with lack of intelligence it’s quite the contrary. Psychosis has no bearing on intelligence I’ve had very intellectually stimulating conversation with those suffering from psych but unfortunately there’s a chemical imbalance that causes them to often not be present in current reality. Their illusions are their reality and it’s quite sad*
