I was in Alberta getting myself a nice chicken gyro when Aman and Eric walked up and cut in line. "Excuse me?" I asked politely, "What do you think you're doing?" They both looked at me and said in sync "Your bishop is hanging" then they stole my gyro. Don't support these guys
I just want to say Thanks to Eric. I am 485 blitz but routinely beat 1000-1400+ rated players using what I learned from these videos. I have been accused of cheating 3 times in the last week. Which is the biggest compliment I can think of! Lol
I don’t think a6 hangs because the bishop is pinned to the queen no? For example Nfxd5, Nxd5, Bxd5. If Bxa6 black is winning white’s queen, if rook takes a6 black takes back with the rook because again the bishop is pinned to the queen. I could be wrong but that’s how it looks to me
What i realise after watching this granmasters play is opening doesn't matter. And even through playing a lot of games i am realizing now opennings doesnt matter at all people like levi (gotham chess) is just emphasing opennings cos they want to sell their courses. People below 1500 blitz amd 2000 rapid wont even remember half of the courses and oppenets never play the main lines anyway. Playing more and annayzing games is the only way. At the end garry kasparov was right
@@iamtheteapot7405 Actually now that i have assessed the position further, you are right to some extent. However, only one capture is the correct capture and that is Nfxd5. The other possibilities lead to the loss of the a pawn or worse because white doesn’t have to trade everything on d5 but instead trade once or twice and then taking on a6. Don’t tunnel into the trade everything scenario because believe it or not the move order here matters. Allow me to give you a few lines: If Bxd5 then Nxd5 and whichever knight takes back there’s Rxa6 and if Nxc4 Rxa8 trading rooks is a tempo because you hit the queen before recapture. Nbxd5 blunders the b7 bishop and you lose a piece and Rb8 there’s Qxa6 and Ra8 you just trade rook and queen so black gains nothing there and he lost a piece. Nfxd5 Nxd5 Bxd5 only move (If Nxd5 then bishop hangs again on b7) and now Rxa6 is no longer possible because white c4 bishop is pinned to the Queen so Rxa6 is a free rook recapture. Here black wins a pawn and his position is much better with the more active pieces. Edit: Tl;dr Trading everything is bad for white therefore white will trade once or twice and black needs to play precisely to secure an extra pawn.
