Play RU-vid Animation Smash Bros Been working on my first game ever, Animation Annihilation, a RU-vid Animation Smash Bros Style Game. Hear the process of it so far.
0:26 - 0:31 “I can’t code, I can barely animate, and I don’t even know what I’m gonna use to make the game at all.” Understandable and relatable to many newcomer video game developers.
@@titan4257 making a game using actual code is like gambling for a dopamine rush. It’s a small chance you get great progress and get that rush or you just fail because the stupid animation ins’t core or you realise that your script didn’t work because there was no wait for child and you’ve worked for an hour trying to fix it. (That’s basically just cheezit studio slander btw)
Yeah, Notch didn't know what he was doing when he first made Minecraft. In fact, he didn't even know what the title of the game was going to be so he just named it "Cave game tech test". And now it's the current most popular game in the entire world!
It would be funny if you allowed each character to be animated by those who own the character so it has its own personal touch of what the characters represent
Dude. If you hit up ANY OF THEM and they would all get together to hire actual coders to code the game and leave the gameplay for you and they would animate it the selves in a actual game engine that's not made for 5 year olds. You have some resources. The worst they could say is that they are busy
If you do update the game and add more fighters, here are my next recommendations: 1. TheOdd1sOut - He's just a really iconic animator and is one of the first things most people think of when they think of storytime animation. Also if ypu add alternate costumes his should definitely be the Sooubway outfit. 2. Sr. Pelo - He'd definitely be one of the most, if not the most, unique characters to play as. You could make his attacks unpredictable and, let's just say "interesting", and you could also include references to his other works in his move-set (for example, one of his taunts could be the iconic Spooky Month dance)l 3. The Chosen One (Alan Becker) - The basic movements should be really easy to animate, given it's a stick figure and all, so you could really go out with the attacks. Also, it'd just be a really cool fighting game character to play as. Just don't make it too OP. Edit: Also, these are just my ideas for the *next* update, and more are obviously gonna be added in the one after this one. Thanks for all your great suggestions like SMG4, Four, and Chainsaw Dad. I'd also add Suction Cup Man, if I may.
Honestly, good on you for posting about an incomplete project! I can see how something like this is a daunting task, but I love seeing the process behind it! Excited to see more!
This looks really good, I'm glad you decded to make it! If you want, I could also help out, as I'm pretty experienced on Scratch! (As well as with drawing, but more-so Scratch) If you wanted, you could make a studio in Scratch to build a team with? I dunno, just an idea. Good luck with the project, and let me know if I can help!
@@MiloWorldN2D Also, I would recommend using griffpatch’s tutorials. Especially his platformer tutorial playlist.(can you guess why?) The platformer tutorial teaches the very basics of scratch, and he doesn’t rush you through things in scratch like those other tutorials, he keeps it at a nice and slow pace. With superstars help, im sure you can make an amazing game!
No no no, this CAN’T be real. This is a CRAZY feat your undertaking and it’s incredible to see how much effort you’re putting into it! Cannot wait to play and see the game grow! :D
This idea is really amazing. Personally I think you should have the creators animate their own characters and it will really feel like everyone’s animations could clash together in the fighting game. Of course since your the head dev right now you have to accept everything and put in hitboxes but i think it’s a neat idea.
I really liked the concept trailer and always wished it was real, so thank you for making this! I'm definitely maining any Eddsworld character if added in a later update.
Awesome stuff! If you need some help with anything like animation or even connections, I'd say I'm a well known user on the site and know my ways around pretty well so im pretty much down for anything lol. Good luck!
bro, can u release a trailer for this at some point? I'm genuinely hyped! Also, btw, as a fellow scratch dev (Tho I dont have any games published, its cuz I have a scary number of unfinished projects that when I finish will get uploaded) I will say, that if you make updates, Its best to remix your old project, and add the new stuff into the code, imagine this: Your playing your favorite game, but suddenly, it gets an update that (too you) ruins the game. But with this, you can just have all the different updates listed as separate games. Say, "Animation Annihilation V:1.0", etc, allowing fans to chose witch ever update they find to be the most fun to them.
@@Tempus_Time_ I understand, I mean a trailer for the game itself. He said himself, the first trailer was a joke. I mean a trailer for the GAME, showing a bit of what the gameplay/what the game has to offer
2:40 Don’t do that. I have been working with scratch for over 2 years but I feel this goes for every game. Make the most important part of the game (aka, the gameplay) first. Then design stuff like menus and UI’s second. Then, you are tackling the biggest hurdle first so if you give up, you didn’t waste all that time making the game look pretty first.
Here’s a recommendation, if you can, add alternate costumes like what smash bros does, like with Jaiden having her shirt be the same colour as her birds as 2 alts, or Bryson have his siblings for 4 alts, or for Riggy have him wear danno’s clothes or have him wear clothes based on the toon turf theorists
I've used Scratch for the last 6+ years, it's more complicated than other people claim that it is. It's not as difficult as other forms of code, but it can still stump you hard. Not to mention there's custom blocks so you can customize your own specific code-block. With all the aspects of having to draw, animate and code, Scratch is a form of art that is underappreciated, because most of everyone who uses it, does it solo since there's no collaboration feature. Glad to see someone is using Scratch for such a big project.
hey dude, i love this idea it seems very cool but i have a few tips from using scratch for a while i advise you use scratch mods such as turbo warp instead of regular scratch or even dolphin mod because in scratch your width and height doesnt support full screen without being stretched while in turbo warp you can make it while its the correct sizes and its also good for making it a exe other than that i wish you best luck. 🎉
These are some of my favorite animators, so I want to see if you might include them: Nutshell Animations: they're really funny and would be a good idea to me. 2. Dude Dans: he's funny and I love his videos (if he plans on seeing this again, I subbed)
Honestly bro I really don't want to seem like I'm self-promoting but you're just making me want to do animation going back to doing coding again so thanks and good luck with your game oh also some tips to actually making your game I would say actually play some scratch games and see how their mechanics are done Oh also you got a brand new subscriber
I've been on Scratch since February of 2022 and I must say, You are dedicated as shit, my lazy ass would give up on the collision detection (that's why i get someone else to do it for me! :D)
I wanted to do this idea long ago before you thought of it. So, I decided to help you with the game's ideas. - The RU-vidr character list would include Mr. Beast, Jonny Razer, Royal Pear, Phaleur, Bambaeyoh, Blitzo from Helluva Boss, Radoukens, BunDun, Nick DiGiovanni, Smosh, Annoying Orange, and a lot more. - There would be a chat room to communicate with other players in the game which you can decorate yourself and moderate. - There would be a premium pass where you can get overpowered rewards, premium RU-vidrs such as Pewdiepie and GetMadz, level tokens, which are items that level up your character faster, premium stages, and outfits that fit the theme of the pass. - There would be a storyline similar to CRK which requires you to complete Adventure Mode, defeat various enemies, rescue various RU-vidrs (the Shorts youtubers are the first). - Actually, remove some of the non-animation RU-vidrs except for animated series characters and RU-vidrs with animated avatars. After all, it's called Animation Annihilation! And remove the Adventure Mode storyline too. - A gacha which would require you to use emerald tokens to collect various RU-vidrs. An example of this is SMG4. -Servers with PvP or LAN. -YKW, forget the rest! This is tiring!
I feel like Bryson's moveset would be the most fun to make because it would have a good combination of ranged and melee attacks to choose from, being waterbending & whatever random moves he's already used to beat people up with
To Milo: I may be new to this channel, but hope it comes out good, and I wish you good luck! 🙂👍 To me personally: Now I need to hope for someone to make a Smash Bros-themed stick figure game with not just the AvM characters.
Ever since you put out the trailer I've had a TON of ideas about this game. Here's my roster thus far with weight classes. [-odd1sout (mid weight aka mw) -Jaiden animations (heavy weight aka hw) -Ice cream sandwich(light weight aka lw) -Alan becker and stickmen(mw) -Haminations( hw) -Gingerpale(lw) -Letmeexplainstudios(mw)-Smokeebee(lw) -Speedrunning Link (mw) Cas van de Pol (lw) -GetMadz (lw) -Brody animates (hw) -Infamous Swoosh (hw) -Ricky(lw) ] I'm also a descent Scratcher myself, and would be open to help!!!
there NEEDS to be either JackNJellify or AnimationEpic in here, at least one (i'd love both). Maybe it could be like Pokemon Trainer where you can change to other characters! (maybe it's a dlc character idk)
