be glad that army is there (for the obvious reasons). and PDC is a place to party, not work (as you implied). Glad to see the street hustlers mostly left you alone (that's my #1 complaint). You must appear to be broke and/or frugal since you never mentioned them. I think I am going to follow your lead on how to dress. And by the way, the tables in those massage places are seperated by curtains, mostly american women that get the massages there, very clean, clean sheets, (there was no one before you using your same table to there doing nasty things), very legit. If you are still there, get you one.
Haha, yes - I intentionally dress down (appear broke) to not make myself a target. I did get hustled, mostly about tours, but they backed off after me walking by without making eye-contact. I'm from New York originally, so I'm used to this and just didn't get to me. Noted about the massages, I'll give them a try when I'm back.
Many blogs and other RU-vid videos cite Play del Carmen as a digital nomad "hotspot." And it's just a joke for the intro... I wasn't really that disappointed!
