ive found that usually if a person says that they don't like gaming, or that good games haven't come out in a while just simply don't play single player games. most of your fun is derived from competitive FPS in free games. The history of gaming didn't start there and i really hope it doesn't end there

The issue is that the most fun I have is when I don't play the game at an optimal competitive level. The genuine MOST fun I've EVER had was going Lucio and challenging their widow to a duel 5 lobbies in a row, I lost majority of the time because they were better than me, but going 4/10 with 2k healing every game was dwarfed by the satisfaction I felt when I killed their Widow. But how does the rest of my team feel when we lose the game because of that? My fun doesn't translate to their fun. And even if we all try hard and win the game... Is that even fun? Pressing H after basically every death to play the most optimal hero is a repetitive cycle. I started a Doomfist only account and it's kind of alleviated that feeling of counter watch being the only way to play, but I still can't win every game. Even when they're playing 5 Doomfist counters, and my team REFUSE to counter swap them back it's always my fault because I'm supposed to play mystery heroes and swap every life to counter their tank. I don't think majority of the playerbase has fun on this game. We're just starved for better options, and blizzard knows it. Hopefully when all the games in the same genre come out blizzard will be forced to make some changes or risk losing 75% of their playerbase overnight

I think it’s becoming more and more clear how bad the esportsification has gotten for having fun in games. Not just in ow, but in any other multiplayer shooter, if you’re not playing 8 hours a day off addy, then you’re just going to get dumpstered by someone who is. I don’t think the answer is to “grow out of it” because in all honesty I’ve played ow long enough to get a job and live on my own and you know what? Playing video games and laughing with friends after a long day at a warehouse is probably what’s gonna keep me from ending it. So for the sake of everyone’s mental, stop trying so damn hard. You’re not a contracted player. If that’s your direction, don’t be surprised when you’re frustrated along the way.

I think people are listening too much to streamers and internalizing their opinions, as someone who started playing Overwatch 2 with no experience of OW1 i always have fun with the game. It's just a game man people are always bitching and moaning about it, if you dont like dont play it, it's not that deep there's enough other games to try.

if you don't have fun playing just stop. look for other hobbies that make you happy. I'm having fun playing overwatch but I'd stop if I didn't have fun anymore. I abandoned league of legends after playing for 9 years and I'm still happy with that decision
