PLAYERS GETTING WIPED BECAUSE OF THIS... (Hypixel Skyblock) 

This is not really what happened. The skyblock maintenance was for profile data migration onto a new system. They opened the server too early and some unlucky players had their current data corrupted. HOWEVER, that does not mean they were wiped. The data was stored somewhere else, and the stat deletion was only temporary until the migration finished. There was no rollback to fix this, nothing bad happened, and nothing bad will happen. It's safe to join skyblock, and has been this whole time. Was a 2 minute rushed video covering a topic we didn't actually have info on yet really necessary? Kinda just causes unnecessary panic.
