Totally agree. The #400 player in the world routinely places the ball in the deep corners from the baseline. Felix battled him pretty well in the second set but man, that's a tough guy to play against.

I agree. They have everything to gain and defend. You, on the other hand have nothing to loose. No fear, go straight at these guys and get yours. You owe it to yourself. And your serve has no hitches. When you put that toss up it's coming. Your a beast. Let them feel it.

yea to humble, you need a bit of a cockiness to make your life a lot easier. you would be surprised how far overestimating your own skills can get you. and how far back self doubt and realistic criticism can trow you back. i know a few of those cocky types and its amazing how many matches they won they should never have.

Hi Felix! Really enjoying your series. It's interesting to see that other stronger players face the same problems as I do. I mean many people especially in modern days just show the golden moments which leads in frustration to many and this isn't limited on tennis to be honest. So wish you all the best on your journey, keep up that quality content! Greetings from Germany

One of the things that i see is a common theme is a late reaction to incoming balls, and therefore being late to the ball. I understand that it is very difficult to maintain such explosive speed for over an hour, but I believe training to improve this aspect of your game will elevate your tennis!!!

Well done Felix. He started off really sharp in the First set and as you pointed out the balls were flying super fast but you looked like you settled into the second set. I liked your T Serve and body serve which seemed to get you some free points. He did not look like he was missing a lot of first serves, was that the case because if he was serving a very high percentage of first serves then I can see how you were unable to get into his service games as much as you would have liked. You both looked like you were hitting your spots well. I also liked the way you hit some short angle faded shots as well which took him of the baseline on your terms. Really great tactic against a player like this who is very comfortable from the baseline on both wings.Great work Felix. Really enjoying watching your journey. D. :)

You know what Felix when you got into the match, you were competitive. Considering how good this guy is, ypu should feel very proud as he hit his shots very big and applied a lot of pressure on you. My biggest piece of advice to you (and I'm sure you know this already) is when you play high calibre players like Billy, you have keep hold of your serve and keep the pressure on. This is the key in ny opinion. Also dont get caught up on hitting the serve as hard as you can. If you can hit the corners on the lines at 105 mph at the level you're playing and setup a serve plus 1 on the forehand you'll be pushing players like Billy hard and beating them soon. Just look at how Federer cruises through his service games. His serve is far from the fastest but it is deadly accurate and hard to read and he uses his serve to setup his forehand. Improve your serve accuracy and serve plus 1, the more you'll hold serve and the more wins you'll get. This is the key for you especially as you enter the pro game(futures and challengers). But well done mate you played absolutely awesome and hope you have a great week in your tournament. Also (a bit cheeky of me) but if you ever fancy a bit of a hit sometime I'll be bang up for it. Goodluck mate👍
@samuelbaldwin7856
@samuelbaldwin7856 2 года назад
Absolutely. Placement on serve is paramount to me. I place my serves close to the lines every time and it's either out wide, into the body jamming the return, or up the T and hard to reach, so I mostly don't see a return at all in my service games. It's either aces, unreturned serves... or double faults 😂
@mrtennistoday
@mrtennistoday 2 года назад
Although you didn’t win, well done still! It was definitely a tough challenge and a great learning experience. Your opponent’s serve is really good but your serving action is a lot more smooth/fluid and has a lot of potential. Great match once again maybe you would get better results next time. I want to play a match against you, maybe if we both achieve our goals and go professional then we might even meet each other on tour, who knows! Looking forward to next video already.

Hey again, even if you didn’t win, still this was another awesome match you played and for someone that is ATP level ranked 397, you played well against him, I played someone who was seeded at this tournament called Johnson Ranch in Roseville, here in California, but this guy is a Russian seeded player, he was ranked 850 or 900 in ATP in a USTA tournament. But I felt so much pressure but now things will become completely different I said in my mind after I lost that match 0-6,0-6. You played well no matter what Felix😊🌟👊🏽✨, I know you know that you just need to focus on the positive things and look forward to the next one, you got this, sending lots of 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚to you and positive energy🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nice video. These stories really show you what the bottom half of pro tennis looks like. Your opponent, Billy Harris, has been grinding it out at the Futures level for nine years. He's slowly improved his ranking to top 400, but he's never made it to the main draw of an ATP event or even played in qualifying events. Career prize money is $53,000, or about $500 per month over nine years. He has a great all around game and I can't imagine there's much daylight between his skill level and that of a top 100 player.
