The diamond in the jukebox recipe is actually supposed to represent the needle on a record player, which are often made from diamond.

I'd love to see a parrot on top of each jukebox... Is it too much to ask? Haha. Anyway, part from that silly idea, I loved the episode as always! Learned some good redstone today :D

After watching the buttercups and butterflies go at it, sometimes is just nice to watch nonsense with Zedaph

I think the cacophony zedvancement isn't truly complete unless you listen to all the discs to completion.

I laughed out loud when Zed got the idea to use his cacophony contraption to annoy people into coming to his shop to turn it off. That's pure Zedaph

The Cacophony sounds so good, it sounds the best when it's turned off XD.

20:41 There is a way to make it less scary. Piglins don't get angry when you interact with hoppers. Meaning you can place a hopper under a chest and have it extract loot from the chest without making them angry.

Fun Fact: Record players in history used to use a diamond tip to read the record as it spins. I think the Edison record players had the diamond tip. never needs to be replaced... Probably why a diamond is needed for crafting a jukebox...

I'm always happy when I see that Zedaph uploaded. When I raid bastions, I just kill all the piglins and then it's calm. Nobody can notice, if there is nobody to notice.

Zedaph you should go around and wax everyone’s signs so that they aren’t accidentally edited. Again. This seems to be a feature that flew underneath everyone’s radar, despite it being the flipside counterpart to the ability to edit signs in the first place

You should make it operate using skulk sensors so people accidentally turn it on

as much as it hurts to trim leather armor with netherite... it looked really cool

You should hook up the cacophony to pressure plates at the door of the shop so it plays whenever someone walks in :p

Please have a chest full of Zed trophy so Hermits can get the Zedvancement when they listen to it. It can also be a good way of drawing people in, free Zedvancement!

I don't know the numbers but the jukebox range is indeed pretty crazy. Tango's got something like 99.9% of Decked Out 2 covered for card announcements with synchronized activation of jukeboxes at two strategically placed locations. Scar has the morning and evening announcements at Scarland going off with a pair of jukebox stations some distance apart as well. (Although I don't think any calculations for optimal placement were done in Scar's case?)

I have been waiting for the Cacophony update! Nice idea making it where anyone can play it, I love it!

Honestly, Piglin bastions are alot scarier than ancient cities imo

You should challenge the hermits to see how many zedvancements they can earn. Some already have some, but can you imagine all the other hermits looking at your trophy collection and seeing how close they can get to you.

Throughout the video I was wondering what would happen to the discs if no one pressed the button to turn it off. But after hearing that I don't think that's gonna be a problem

The off-switch needs a record scratch custom disk (or 20) to play when everything abruptly stops!

Learherite armor actually can look pretty awesome. I have a red dyed set with netherite silence trim and it looks awesome.

I feel your pain with bastion raiding. My brothers and I went to raid a bastion the other day (first time ever for them). The problem for use was the insane amount of zombie piglins running around everywhere. We couldn't defend ourselves against the piglins without hitting the zombie ones. And then they'd steal all our gear after they killed us. It didn't go well.

The funniest thing is I have actually put netherite trims on leather armor, I did a leather armor only challenge that somehow lasted long enough for 1.20 to drop and I had some extra netherite since I wasn’t using it to make netherite armor. Definitely felt really weird.

3:03 - Rather than using "coast" template for the "best worst gear" I think it should be the "silence" template. That design tends to be pretty well-liked I think and it's the rarest armor trim (1.2% chance of finding it in an ancient city chest). Also it's a minor point but you should dye the leather. It's not that hard to get all the dyes but I think the rarest dyes would be brown and green.

Dear Zedaph, I (OnlyNeeded) hereby challenge you to the 1 hour world challenge. You play in a Minecraft world for 1 hour and at the end you see how much you’ve done in an hour time. There are just three rules: no creative, no cheats/cheating mods and you have to challenge at least two friends afterwards (they don’t have to accept, but at least you tried). There is not really a point system so it’s more an experiment than an actual challenge… but oh well… I totally get it if you don’t feel like doing this and I am really honored that you even read this far into my comment! Best trick to raiding bastions (which I learned from Pixlriffs) is that piglins aren't immune to lava. Drown them in lava, even the Brutes go down quick, and the damage is considered environmental, so it isn't attributed to you. No agro! Eg at 22:25 is a perfect place to dump a bucket...

Wow what an experience your shop will be! What about making it run at mid day, but only like a 5 percent chance, so people will be instantly wanting to catch it in the act and come by the shop :)

Seeing zedvancements -- especially ones that have been in in the works for a while -- get completed is so very satisfying.

every time zed uploads i am so so so thankful for the captioning on every video. its not a huge thing but makes it better than 90% of minecrafter youtube vids for me since im HoH. So Zed, thank you truly from the bottom of my heart for making your vids accessible. ive also rarely if ever seen any flashing which is ALSO an accessibility thing that im thankful for.

One small tip for dealing with piglin bastions: bring a lava bucket. Killing piglins with lava won't anger other piglins (although brutes are always hostile) and can be done when you don't have good line of sight to the mob you're trying to get rid of. If you don't anger any piglins, then pillaring up a couple blocks will make you safe (provided that nothing can drop down on you from above) as brutes and hoglins don't use ranged attacks (and then you can just get rid of them with your handy dandy lava bucket).

Friendly tip for bastion explorers! Pigs dont care about hoppers and dispensers. You can use a hopper to pull loot out of bastion chests without aggravating the denizens, and flow it into a dispenser or dropper. Dont try barrels as barrels still count!

Really appreciated that red stone explanation for how the jukeboxes work with redstone in this latest update. Very well done and helpful. Gives me ideas for my own way to use the concepts laid out here. And very fun episode, as usual.

Regarding how far you can hear the music - the music disc mod you have on the server now allows to modify how far the sound is heard (talk to Tango about this). This means...you can torment people 10000 blocks away. Or only in the shoppin district. Choose your flavour. xD
