"I've seriously been debating my life choices" -Grian, after his first paper, 2022 @bdoubleo @Grian Original: • Hermitcraft 9: Episode... If you would like to support me: / rukart_bert
Especially because he actually does knit, he was late to Timmy's stream once because he was knitting a replica of his cat Maui. At least I hope he actually does knit!
This style is so reminiscent of old point and click adventure games, in the best way possible, I love it. And... it's actually an entire episode. Actually wow. Bdubs throwing himself onto the bed to set the spawn is *chef's kiss*
i love the details. the puppet knitting, bdubs dive onto the bed, the shulker lunchbox, the book & pencils next to the waiting blanket, grian's bump when he blows the horn.. the environments are stunning, and as always THEY ARE SO SHAPED!! many good shapes!! colors working so well together too!
Can I just say, I love how you portray the Hermits here in their design. Like, it mirrors their real-world appearance instead of just being their skin put onto the same mannequin of the Steve/Alex human base. And the fact that the characters are doing more than just standing or sitting while inactive really frames their personality in the videos. Like Pearl lying flat on the top of the couch, because when you think of Pearl, you rarely think of doing something normally. Just all of these little details that capture the people behind the screens and acknowledge that they are the same as who you are shown. I love it.
Oh this is so fun, I love how fluid and dynamic you make them... Grian climbing on signs and stuff like a gremlin, Bdubs throwing himself all over the place, Pearl sprawling on the couch, you know in the real episode they were all standing flat or crouching and you've added so much body language that also feels so fitting. Especially I love the little horn-blowing poses for Grian, all of those are lovely
@@yourefreindlypocketgamer__ Yes, but you do realise that even drawing one frame takes a lot of time? And combining all of these one frames it still adds up to quite a lot of time. Not to mention the fact that this video is 10 minutes long.
The squids “flying” was strangely accurate to how it looks in the game lol! I learned they do that because they are unaffected by bubble columns like soul sand, but the game somehow can’t quite tell/remember that so they constantly float up and out then back to where it was because the game can’t decide if it should be moved by the soul sand or not lol!
There's so many great things about this. Grian's "I'm Not Crazy," face, Bdubs setting his spawn, the way you do all the little speech bubbles and things. The fact that, somehow, this animatic is essentially the same length as an 11-minute cartoon episode. This is fantastically drawn and boarded, amazing work!
...I can't believe it's taken me this long to realize... Grumbot's Content Generator is literally just an improved version of Larry's Wonderful World of Auto-tainment.
I don't know how to phrase this but all the little behaviours really emphasise their friendship, like the three scrunched up on the couch or grian giving Bdubs a hand up after he fell down in shock. It's so sweet, I really love it
Holy crap this was practically the entire episode. How did you animate so much so fast and fully coloured as well! Also I had paused at 5:05 and this frame made me laugh way more than it should’ve lmao.
Imagining the Hermits' activities in a way that isn't Minecraft-y emphasizes the idea that they're all kids make-believing, out in the woods, or a field or swamp. Ah, good old days. Character body design is charming and warm. All off-screen elements or texts are in the forms of tattered paper scrolls, love it. You likely played Monkey Island.
So obviously the way you draw all the hermits is incredible, but those backgrounds?! So incredible. It feels like an old time-y cartoon in a really astonishing way
I was not expecting a *11 minute* animatic with your wonderful art style to be posted today, thank you for the wonderful content (generated by Grumbot)
THIS IS GENUINELY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION ON RU-vid. PERIOD. It looks like a freaking 90's classic or something. I love it, I wanna see more of it. If you did more of HC S9 content that would be so cool! Like, I'd love to see your take on RenTheKing or the Empires crossover or something. WOW!
This is just fantastic! I love your designs for the Hermits (Hug Shaped Impulse is so valid and that Tango design is fire) and the entire feel of Hermitcraft is just amazing, I legit wanna be there its so good. I want that massive couch so badly!
a fully coloured 10 minute long animatic with beautiful backgrounds??? too good to be true and yet i just watched it three times over i adore your art style, an the way you interpret what is happening in the game major major kudos, i love this so much!!
I kept thinking this was going to end, and it didn't. This is so wholesome, your art style is SO GOOD, it reminds me of, like, Black Cauldron or Emperor's New Groove, really BEAUTIFUL backgrounds with really neat character designs, and the whole thing was just... I can't vocalize how much I loved this! Truly magical animationwork.
These character designs are so cleverly done! The cartoon style was blended so well with the Hermits, and the variety of designs is stunning! Pearl just lying places was an interesting consistency in your animation, and I love how Bdubs looks like a tired parent yet still captured his lowkey chaos. Impulse's design was a pleasant surprise at the end, and the quick look at Tango was also great. This is a beautifully done animation!
This animation is super incredible! Idk if pearl being upside-down on the couch was an Australian joke but if it was I found it funny! Have a blessed week everyone! God loves us all so much:)
I didn’t even realize this was ten minutes ! I was so enamered in things that I have seen already that I was in a trance because of pretty pictures make blocks into not blocks woah
omg i loved this so much, the art style reminded me of some old tv cartoons :D and the amount of work you've done for this is absolutely mind blowing. and the backgrounds? perfection. the interpretation of how a chest monster would look like outside of minecraft was so creative!
The frog went on to make a living as the president of l'manberg and Then his wife left him for a goat (you may interpret this as doc :]) then he discovered the secret portal to empires and became a frog villager in the fishing district. He went on to the hermit topia before going into the life series then after that he breaks canon causing the scarlet effect in pearl. The end
Hermits interacting with other hermits is so full of SURPRISEs, each and every encounter has something awesome going on, even the simplest and mundane things become great moments between them.
I love your animations! Just delightful, the whole way through. The character designs, the facial expressions, the way you animate little things like Pearl getting popcorn or Bdub backing away before they get Impulse. Love the part where Impulse and Bdubs both do the same pose in response to the SURPRISE
Dang, it's certainly not often you get an 11 minute animatic of such quality. Each frame here clearly has more love and effort put into it than many animatics have for the whole video.
Oh, so _that's_ where the Surprise horn came from! I found Season 9 fairly late... Although I have seen a clip that covers just how...noisily Grian expressed his gratitude for that horn.
duuuude, this is such a mammoth work. 10 minutes of animatics? I'd expect that amongst all the animatics in a channel, not just ONE of the videos haha. amazing work
I absolutely adore the aesthetic you brought to this video, Hermitcraft as it was meant to be, it stopped feeling like a minecraft server and felt like a whole new world where these friends just existed and collaborated with each other, amazing.
Wow, fully colored, detailed and high quality 10 minute Hermitcraft animation? I'm very impressed. This was really funny and extremely well-executed all throughout, I especially loved all the little details you kept in such as Grian's head poking out in the puppet show thing exactly how it was, and that sponsored section being cut off, DANG, you did that in the most flawless way imaginable. ''This video is NOT sponsored.'' All the expressions and movement of the characters felt so natural and real, it's almost unbelievable that this is an ''''unprofessional'''' fan animation. *8:43* Like, Bdubs being flabberghasted by the *SURPRISE* horn was so extremely well-done it genuinely felt like I was watching a scene from an official animated series. All the backgrounds and environments are so pretty too, DAMN! This is some RU-vid Cartoon Pilot level quality right here, and all of that centred around the funny Minecraft server.
Saw this on my homepage and saw 10 mins! YES PLEASE! Loved this episode of the series , was so funny. Great drawings and animaniac action. Love how you drew Impulse.
I absolutely love this! Your style and character designs for everyone are amazing. My two favorite bits are righty after the puppet show with Pearl lying on top of the couch and grian sitting on the arm, they just all seem so natural and cozy, and when Grian blows the horn behind bdubs and blows it so hard he pushes himself back, drops the horn, and falls to the ground. Plus fun bdubs flailing. Absolute superb job!!!
