I like the design choice of encouraging him to go into his tunnels after getting burned to get his power back, almost like its getting scared and scampering off
Yeah it's good, But it's power is very time consuming and lacklustre. They need to boost its power to make it worthwhile. Maybe when on all fours it's slightly faster at everything and it also needs it's terror radius reduced... as out of all the licenced killers... The Xenomorph should be the most stealthy.
@@DibDob_3 just imagine using the perk of doctor to lose 8m 🌚, nah but maybe 20 instead of 24 would be funny and add monitor and abuse to lose and have 12m is so balanced
That be class Though that has me curious if the dredge activates the running cat Imagine your presence as a killer being alerted by the precious feline
@@SlyphYT They first did it in Temple of Purgation, with the sub-level temple floor gen unlocking the sacrifice room with an extra chest inside. Pretty straightforward, I know, but that was the first map with default 4 chests, and this map is the third one so far.
Imagine if the tail attack speared survivors when downing them as an insta grab like Wesker’s ability. How terrifying would that be to just see a teammate get yoinked from a hallway?
I'm so glad they nailed the aesthetics of both the Xenomorph and the alien planet with Nostromo's wreckage on it. Looks like it'll be a very solid chapter in all respects!
@@arktis2653end transmission was kind of eh for me. i'm not saying it's bad. probably one the best chapters out of the last 3 but it wasn't anything too amazing for me.
What i like about him is that he has anti loop with counterplay. It can be dodged and disabled via the turrets, and has a COOLDOWN! He also doesnt suffer from a lack of mobility like other anti loop killers, and even some stealth
@@Justmonika6969incorrect. All xenomorphs are canonically genderless. They’re not male or female, even the Queen. That being said, the drone in the first movie is exclusively referred to with male pronouns and “it”, as are most xenomorphs besides the Queen. Don’t spread misinformation.
Possibly use Furtive Chase too so that when not in chase you can reduce your terror radius by like 4 metres per token up to an amount of 4 tokens. Iirc
These turrets look really good to play against compared to the EMPs for singularity, it doesn’t make him useless and his power comes fast enough that it doesn’t feel bad
On top of that his power is just nemisis power without infection so them being powered up isnt all that bad to go against. Or atleast its nothing people dont already know how to go against
@@Type_3_Screamerdoesn’t mean it isn’t either. I agree though. We need to have more time with the killer before we can say they’re too strong. Me personally, I feel like they’re more annoying than actually just strong.
Me and a friend figured out that if you but the Chemical Trap on a pallet you can reset it with Any Means Necessary and it will stay on the pallet. Dont know if it was intended but its a pretty strong way to use it. And the trap will still detonate even if the killer has Spirit Fury, effectively working as a good counter to Spirit Fury.
I was actually wondering earlier what would happen if you had any means necessary with a trap on the pallet. So that's cool to know that it stays on there! That could be a fun combo to run then. Assuming it doesn't get patched and that's how it was intended to be.
Xeno is kinda better than Demo in many ways. No setup, instant stealthier map mobility, and the tail attack is an alternative to Nemi's whip that allows you to hit over low cover/pallets/vaults. Xeno is looking like low A tier/high B tier to me.
This chapter showcases so many more things than the license: It highlights elemental attacks (fire and ice) which could be incorporated for future chapters; the fact killers no longer have to be bipedal showcases the chances of more animalistic killers in future (werewolves, spiders, etc.); and much more interactivity between both sodes that this feels like a rral battle! I also like that it shows that using similar ideas to old killers cam still feel refreshing and unique. I do hope BHVR can capotalise on this - this is the type of content which players would crave!
You notice how well received a Chapter is when it's both licensed and NOT leaked? When you don't have people doomposting and the stan accounts being annoying because their IP didn't get in? I'm genuinely excited to play this and I'm stoked I actually feel happy that I'll buy this Chapter and support BHVR again 😤☺
While i do agree with the general statement, the past chunk of chapters including leaked stuff and them being original weren't really received badly for those reasons. . . They were received badly because they were bad chapters that could have done better lmao
Played with bots for a bit in the PTB and i'm getting a good feel for the tail stab. Once you understand it's range and hitbox you'l see that it's really powerful. BTW the Addons that reduce turret range and increase your turret resistance makes the turrets really bad and manageable. You can literally just tank the flame and hit it every time without fail. You'l lose distance taking it out mid chase but that's still much better than losing your tail.
Yep, I've found that at least devoting 1 addon to nerfing the turrets is a good idea to make them far less annoying. It's kinda like Dredge in that if you don't run Haddie's Calendar, you run the risk of survivors hurting your power immensely.
@@justmonika2345 Yeah i thought the same. I'd probably go Turret Resistance over range, since it gives you time to just snipe the turret with your tail, making the range not as relevant. I don't know the exact numbers of the resistance since for somes reason BHVR omitted numbers in some addons, but it feels like at least 25%. Btw i've made a discovery: Xenomorph's animations while it's on all fours is dynamic. When you move about, it's limbs independently accomodate to the terrain and due to this it sometimes even places it's hands ontop of boxes and tables. This explains why it's animations are kinda glitchy and wierd, since it's not a preset of animations but rather a on-the-fly system. Notably, this has caused some people's games to lag as you get closer to them, due to the complexity of the system.
After you trigger the damage state once the survivors will just predrop every pallet. It would be better with spirit fury that way you could get a double hit
I think so far its a step up from singularity with the ridiculous counterplay that poor robot had. It is visually impressive and very faithful to the character. And the perks are pretty fun for once on killer.
The exit gate is unique in the way that Borgos is. It opens across at the same rate. I’ve gotten survivors before because they’ve dragged on the exit gate being opened the wrong way and it stopped them from getting out that split second sooner. These types of gates that open vertically don’t cause that little issue. Super niche situation but still something to keep in mind
Alien really does seem to take a lot of its kit from Demogorgon I've noticed, I don't think this is a bad thing because Demo rocks and definitely suits the Alien, a Predetermined Portal System vs a Place at will Portal system with a longer strike utility to the kit Its early days but I hope Otz does a sit down for the hitbox for the Aliens tail, seems to be a really strange hitbox from what I've played
I love the way you can see webs on the planet - if it’s not a reference to Alien in pretty sure it’s showing The Entity’s webs wrapping everything together.
I love that you can see the derelict from the map. Even though you can't go in it just being able to see it is enough, seeing as the rest of the map looks so nice.
For those unaware who have not watched "Alien" or are involved in the fandom, this particular alien, being the alien from the first movie that was birthed on the USCSS Nostromo, is named "Big Chap" by the crew who did the movie. So I propose the DBD fandom also adopt this nickname and start calling the Alien "Chappie"
It's pretty awesome that there's a sort of pseudo-fusion between two of my favorite killers, Demo and Nemi, really excited to get my hands on this brand new puppy!
The underground tunnels are exactly what I thought was gonna be the demogorgons power when they originally announced the stranger things chapter, cool that that concept made it into the game with a different character
They really just made demo 2.0 this is what he should have been the tunnel system looks so cool I think this chapter will be very well received it brought fun back with an interactive map
I was more hyped for Nemesis, but seeing the Alien in action has brought me a new feeling: joy. I have wanted the Alien in DBD since I started playing, and not only did they do it's looks and sound justice, but it is an absolute TERROR to play against, as it should be.
You don't need to mark one of the tunnel entrance things in order to use it. You generally do that to make sure you go to the right one, and to show you the fastest path to get there. Also I found that lethal pursuer is really good on this killer, and bamboozle as windows are quite strong against it, and coup de grace for the loops that are particularly difficult to get around with your whip thing.
I think it would be interesting to do a surveillance oriented build honestly. It seems like it would really pair well with his ability when he's inside his tunnels. Maybe surveillance with jolt and eruption or ruin/ pain res?? Worth trying honestly. Thanks for the videos as always Otz!!
After some testing, Surveillance is definitely the way, if not aura read perks in general to get general positions of survivors like BBQ. You can hear gens even easier from the tunnels.
The alien strikes me as a relatively balanced killer. Doesn't seem to have any power that is overwhelmingly insane but isn't weak either. Which is awesome. I can't wait to go against it as a survivor, it looks so scary.
That's a really cool Killer, especially the turret interactions, giving another layer to the whole killer surivor dynamic, is what makes this interessting.
I still think Pinhead holds that. Plaything and Gift of Pain really enabled shitheads to tunnel when he released. (Edit: Jesus Christ lmao. It was a pun.)
I wonder how fast Xeno can vault windows if you make a whole build based on vault speed, could be kinda funny considering the bonus speed you get from the running form.
Seems to be one of the best vault denial killers. You have to play pallets different because if you sit on a pallet and late drop but don’t stun you get stabbed. Very cool!
Just saying I can't wait to see more use of the No-Bloodlust-But-Haste perk. Imagine a Clown using STBFL and that new perk in combination with good bottles. It'll make doubling up hits insane.
Do you think that this chapter is kind of a replacement for Stranger Things? Ellen has perks that are quite similar to Nancy’s and her face and build reminds me of Nancy. Also, the xenomorph has a very demo esc power. I’m honestly so glad we got alien so I can’t complain lmao
Personally, I think tweaking the passive regen of the power to be a bit slower in chase might be better, since you can get the power pretty much immediately while in tunnels, and it stops you from just waiting for your power to regen while in chase. It's meant to be steath based, so it'd make more sense that it'd recharge faster if you aren't being seen, right?
Tweaking it the other way around would be a liability, since then survivors would just take you out of your power (akin to 1 man running around and disarming Hag’s traps optimally). Don’t underestimate SWF
Honestly I could have seen them going a pig route with chestbursters, for example when an event happens or a timer expires the survivors die, perhaps when this happens the killer gets an npc to help them. I do like the new chapter regardless it’s amazing!
That would be cool, but given how notoriously difficult Pig is to balance, it would rob too much power budget from the chase ability. Making Xeno, much as Pig, either completely busted due to a guaranteed kill, or with only a weak pressure and otherwise limited chase (bottom tier).
Now hear me out: Monitor and Abuse so it has 8 meters terror radius in runner mode Save the best for last so you tail attack the obsession and m1 the others Gearhead so you see survivors's aura while doing gens and u tp to them And any slowdown by ur choice (pain res, deadlock, jolt) so gens dont get rushed
If the tail attack counts as a special, STBL is going to be insane on this killer. M2 the obsession, and keep stacks but everybody else can get M1'd, regardless if your crouched or not
Same with any killer. The actual usefulness of STBFL is NOT losing stacks, but rather doing instant down M1 into fast recovery into fast ranged M2. Nemesis at Tier 3 has enough range to accomplish so. Which makes mutation viable, as opposed to giving up on it after Tier 2
22:08 I really adore the cat detail, But I just know it going to fuck someone up when they attempt to use the locker to hide It going to dub "Getting catted" something, I can tell
In my opinion the running mode is a bit too present. I think they should do it like nightfall, at least so it takes longer to activate and maybe change some add-ons to make it faster in certain circumstances
@@blakehoule6698 maybe dont copy and mix existing killers mechanics? Like xeno is basically demo + nemi. Its very uncreative and lazy. They could for instance add special spots around maps where xeno can walk on walls and ceiling (hard to program? Maybe, but its still better than repeating older mechniacs on new killers. Whats the point of new killers if they have the same powers as old ones?)
@@blakehoule6698 the runner thing is fine some more speed would be nice I would remove the flame thrower and just put that on a timer or something the tunnel thing is fine def I should have the face huggers implanted in one way or another imo either as an egg or a new hooking mechanic
@@blakehoule6698 ye, did u watch any of the alien movies? And dbd has a lots of "walls and ceilings", it would make and interesting stealth/chase power, being able to sneak on a survivor repiairng gen in the shack and attack him with ur tail from the ceiling
Survivor perks: you can run faster, quieter, tank 16 hits and trap everything the killer has touch. Killer perks: once per game when the stars align on the fifth week of September you can see a survivors aura for 5 seconds 😂
