Some tips: - Don’t use automatic. Always use manual drifting so you can get mini boosts - Don’t use karts. Bikes have superior drifting and can wheelie on straight paths for more speed by moving the wii mote up - Use a heavy character like bowser. They have more weight and are bumped around less - Save your shells and bananas by holding the throw button to block from enemy shells and attacks - When you respawn, press the acceleration button right as you hit the ground and you’ll get a boost. The timing is a bit difficult at first, but you’ll get it after a couple tries - Get a new controller 😂
Personally, i go automatic a lot and use Yoshi with his...Idk, it wasnt the default kart, but it was like a waggon thing. its been a few years and i dont have the money to get a new disc. Anyway, i suppose its how youre taught to play; my sister used to play it with me when i was 4 up until i was 10 when she moved out, and quite often, and she's still better than me, so i suppose i had to learn how to weave between spaces as my go to method rather than especially specialized things. but hey, was a handy skill to retain on what i play now (NFS Underground(first, original xbox). Would still play mario kart wii if i had a disc. FYI, discs STILL cost 40 bucks because of how popular this game is.

Who's Joe yeah it does, every character has different upsides and downsides. That’s why people only use Funky Kong and Daisy so much, because they have a higher speed stat compared to everybody else
Who's Joe the small ones aren’t as fast, Funky Kong has a 4 speed, which I think is the fastest in the game. And the medium ones are faster as well, the small characters have better stats on things that aren’t speed
