Wow, tough crowd on the comments 😅. As a 1100 i really enjoy watching you and realising how much further you are able to analyse than me

I feel like every game you are trying to save time by doing some quick moves to save 2 seconds, but then spend a minute calculating some complicated alternate option tactic in hopes of getting a very slightly better position or something. I think you should practice recognizing when it's better to just go with the "good enough" option

As an 1800, I can say you're paying way too much attention to openings and single pawns. As you can see in this and many other examples, games are more often decided by tactical mistakes than pawn structures from the opening. That's why, in my opinion, it's more profitable to play more agressively, put pressure on your opponent, try to make them uncomfortable, in order to induce those mistakes, instead of just defending a pawn or wondering how to get it back. Also, it's important to have simple openings that you're comfortable with, so that you limit the time spent and mistakes on your side. Trying to learn the cutting-edge stuff that grandmasters play, with hundreds of variations, makes it unnecessarily difficult, and you quickly end up not knowing what to do next anyway. I personally play various gambits to quickly get in the aggressive positions. I think it's more fun, and some quick wins with basic traps are a bonus. But of course, for that to work, you also need to improve your calculation and board vision, as you noticed yourself.

there was also several tactical resources to defend against the knight c7 attacking rook move and he didnt consider any of them but its fun being higher rated and criticizing ppl ngl
