I read a great article about plateau, and it was an inspiration. Plateau is actually a great thing because it means we are playing consistent at a level. This is the needed step BEFORE improving. First, we reach a level, then we stay there, and after getting confy for some time, we move up.

Wow this makes a lot of sense. And it's funny because whenever I've made progress in chess, it's always in a burst after a plateau and you just explained it perfectly 🤣

Both games had one thing in common. The attacked side did NOT Castle in time. Nice attack!

7:24 if he goes for the fork you can just take his bishop with your knight, no? Probably why he did not go for it
@ApexChesss
@ApexChesss 7 месяцев назад
Yeah maybe. Then rook takes and my king gets pretty vulnerable but it was vulnerable either way

That's awesome! It'll probably take a while before I get good with it but that's part of learning an opening

You missed a fork on the bishop and rook at the end of the 1st game... Knight to b3

Ahhh yes, I could've used my special spell card to allow the knight to jump 2 extra squares😩

@@ApexChesss I was thinking about getting one of the courses but the price is not insignificant for me. You think it's worth it?
@StockFish1

@@PerfectAimPoseidon no it's not
@ApexChesss
@ApexChesss 7 месяцев назад
@@PerfectAimPoseidon if you don't have the extra money then I wouldn't do it but if you have extra money and want that extra help to learn a new opening then imo it's worth it. You can learn openings yourself pretty easily by using the engine but it's very helpful and convenient to have someone else do that and also explain the plans/ideas
@PerfectAimPoseidon
@PerfectAimPoseidon 7 месяцев назад
@@ApexChesss For sure, that is definitely the main appeal for me. You can absolutely self teach yourself chess, especially with all of the youtube videos we have nowadays. But I'd shell out some money for some direction from someone that knows what they are doing. Thanks that is helpful, I'll probably wait for a sale and pick one up to try it out.
