When a controller button is pressed, the metal contacts inside touch and complete an electrical circuit which sends signals through the wire (or Bluetooth) to the console or computer. Electricity can be conducted through water, that gel stuff, and even humans which is why they were able to use those things in place of controller buttons. Whenever they made contact with those conductive things it would complete the circuit and send a signal. Hope that helps!

OK, so hear me out: When I was in high school, we were the 3rd high school in the US to secure the rights to put on Phantom of the Opera and the first ones to stage it with a moving boat and chandelier (actually borrowed from the Chicago Shakespeare Theater). I didn't get cast because...duh, but I was on the stage and running crew. During the time, I built a pipe organ out of PVC and individual wood blocks held together with wood glue and fishing line, and featuring real piano keys repossessed from a piano that could piano no more. All that is to say that that's what I imagine Arin is playing when Dan makes that reference. Thank you for coming to the least interesting TED Talk you'll read today.

Will say, I bought raycon earbuds bc of the Grumps and so far I am WILDLY impressed. I friggin HATE wireless earbuds bc they never stay in but the raycons *chefs kiss*. Best freaking earbuds. Amazing sound, they don't hurt my ears after wearing them all day, and they actually stay in my ears. Thanks grumps!

Remember backing and receiving the makey makey back in middle school, first kickstarter I’ve ever backed. So much fun building different contraptions, my favorite was drawing a picture of piano keys with a pencil, the graphite conducts.
