@@ShawnMcNair Dave's solos, especially since RiP onwards have been exceptional, both sound and composition. I think CTE is where he and Marty became almost indistinguishable from each other because they were both so good.
I love Dave's solos, and I thought he really brought it on this album. Admittedly, up until I went to record this video I always thought the first solo in High Speed Dirt was Marty's haha!
@@ShawnMcNair yeah man, this High Speed dirt solo really surprise me. It has some lines which sound more like Marty than Dave hahaha You nailed that, as always
Dave has always been the second best lead guitarist in Megadeth, and that's good. But I think his leads are also really great, although not always. Like sometimes they sound too recycled, but in his prime he had a lot more creativity... just listen to my last words...
@@ShawnMcNair OMG, dude, that is fkn RAD, definitely want to meet Dave before I die, I hired kiko to do a cameo for my daughter that was Vic Rattlehead last halloween, but Dave is like the one dude I still gotta meet!!!
He shouldve soloed more on that record. Similarly to youthanasia he gave too much to marty. I find their best songs are when both of them solo. You have the melodical in marty and the aggressive in dave. Thats why ashes in your mouth and high speed dirt are so good. Also victory, go to hell, lucretia, holy wars, hangar 18 etc.
