It's because it starts right before the bombs drop, and it gives you a perspective of the events and the history of the world that the other games do not.

love the video, i'm also playing fallout for the first time and I went with new vegas just because of the ending scene of the show lol. It's a bit difficult to pick up and I think I might follow what you said about starting on Fallout 4 😁
