I play mkwii with keyboard + mouse. I use WASD + CTRL + shift + tab keys for movement, look backwards etc, and I use mouse keys for wheelies, tricks, item placing and sniping
playing on keyboard is actually kinda fun i picked it up surprisingly quickly when I tried it, even getting a 1:23 lap on Melting Magma Melee with it which is actually not too far off my best lap on CTGP💀 (i do not know why I put myself through that)
my keyboard emulates the gcn controller. i dont think its the best setup however, because for example, i use the W key for up tricks, wheelie and nosediving. its a decent start for keybinds but there's definitely better ways than mine- this is just what i got used to@@denimADS
I play on dolphin so I not only all-gold and beat all advanced staff ghost on keyboard, but I also got 242 stars in both Galaxy games, 100% on new Wii and newer Wii on keyboard too. Imo it gives better precision than the nunchuk stick.
Sadly, my mom sold my wii a week ago, So keyboard is now my main way to play, with dolphin emulator, and i really get frustrated that i have to unlock everything again lol
I have nunchuck extention on, have movement on wsad, have a for j, b for k and item button ( i forgot which one that was lol) on l, r for plus/minus, enter for wii menu and more i dont use

i just came here to say that i downloaded MKWii on my laptop, but since i don't have a controller i play on the keyboard, and i've found karts to be easier to control, outside drift bikes are kinda uncomfortable to use and inside drift bikes are reeally bad because there's too much drift
I have an even dumber idea… Playing MKWii online, on a phone. (With touch controls on a phone, that’s probably just as bad as a keyboard or maybe even worse) And yes, dolphin is on phones
before i bought mayflash dolphin bar, i also just used keyboard, i made my left stick binds the exact same as my dpad binds, it's prolly cheating but it makes my life easier
I’ve used automatic on keyboard and easily got to 8k vr using auto sneakster, I think it has even more potential and is surprisingly easy to use due to keyboards instant turning at the max radius kb is not intended for serious use at all tho due to the lack of angles, so for fun’s sake I’d highly recommend automatic
