I decided to watch through this series, since I don't regularly catch streams, and while I was watching this I was thinking "man, I'm going to need to get this game." I already had it in my wishlist, but this made me really want to play. Then I got an email from Steam telling me that it was on sale... dangerous timing. So now thanks to Insym and Steam sales I have this game. 😂
Uhh no. That’s false. Lack of hygiene led to thousands of deaths from related illness and general malnutrition was rampant and abundant. Infant mortality played a role in that but no 40/50 was a LONG life. There’s a reason people had children very young then
Also quite a lot of women died during childbirth, meaning a lot of women died around 30 or earlier. If we subtract infants and women life expectancy was around 60-65, if I remember correctly. There is also a theory that life expectancy is longer now due to people moving to different places all the time which leads to less inbreeding in humans.
Yes and no, infant mortality was a huge issue but even when not counting it, mortality rate was still a lot higer than now, don't get me wrong, there were people who lived very long but it was not the normal thing, just imagine how many times you or ppl you know had a cold up until now, now consider all those times as a potential life or death situation, we now have ppl who prevent or are cured from diseases/injuries, they mostly had "survivors", most injuries and diseases were considered as deadly as some forms of cancer now
Never in my life did I expect you to play a game like this, but I'm all here for it!! I love these types of games and the terrible trio, so this can never go wrong.
I can't believe you're playing this game! I've been playing it for two years now and I'm having an absolute blast. Definitely very chill. I love the management side of this and hunting is so much fun too. To me, this is what I wanted the Pribyslavitz DLC for KCD to be. Medieval Dynasty takes place in medieval Poland, so not that far away from KCD's location either 😄
Bro I’ve been watching his vods for like 10 hours today while writing my thesis (i’m so far behind) and he just dropped that relatable shit at 2:03:20😭 I forgot how to relax. Relaxing=wasting time where i could be working💀
This was a lotta fun to watch! I agree with your statement at the end, about the game being survival, but a lot more chill, and it was nice to see you vibing with it! As always, the jokes with you 3 together are hilarious. xD Like a lot of people were saying in the Twitch chat, this game also reminds me of Skyrim in terms of the world - although Medieval Dynasty's world is a lot more colorful. Hopefully the next Elder Scrolls game looks at least as good as this.
average age is misleading. It was low due to a high young mortality. If you lived to 20 or so you commonly lived to 60s even back then. something like 25% of people died before their 15th birthday
not sure if it would be something you're interested in changing, but you can go into customize game and change the inventory to infinite carry weight. you can also change the length of the seasons, animal health, taxes amount, and infinite health/stamina if y'all would prefer any of that. ^_^
Hi Insym. this game looked entertaining. At least playing with friends :D 1 thing I have been wondering about is why you do not have higher resolution. It does look a little bad on my screen at 1080p, I have to have the window rather small for it to look like the actual game resolution.
Didn't you recently give us a rant about _wanting_ bread you can knock someone 's teeth out with?! ETA: "It's a realistic simulator," says the guy using stone tools over 1,000 years after the end of the iron age.
The whole 'do animals have periods' thing is a mindf*ck. Because I found out a year ago why animals go into heat and humans don't, and let me tell you, now; if you have a uterus and don't want to be really, really angry, don't look into it. Let's just say that the next time you hear a joke about a pregnant woman having a parasite, you won't hear it as a joke anymore. Most animals go into oestrus, otherwise known as heat. Menstruation is not just a different process, it's a massive physiological difference and the only real benefit to it is being able to procreate outside of a particular season. Everything else about it is awful (I don't just mean the pain, I mean the mechanics of it). Animals usually have a season because they can't really farm any food and only have enough resources to put towards reproduction at the greener parts of the year. Having babies in the middle of winter isn't really an issue for humans, since we know how to farm and store food, but if an animal had babies in winter, not only are the babies likely to die, the mother often will, too, because the babies would drain all of her resources and it still wouldn't be enough. Cats go into heat more often because they're such efficient hunters, it doesn't matter much if it's green or not. Most animals have very efficient systems that won't even let their body go into heat if there aren't enough resources to sustain the mother. Humans don't get this luxury.
Yeah, it was interesting hearing doctors refer to human embryos as 'demonic parasites'. Pregnancy is so devastating that women have to build up defenses just in case a pregnancy occurs.
