i try to cope and say they’re mostly bots with other people acting like them but i genuinely think most of charlie’s viewers have been lobotomized since birth
48:01 Yeah, I kind of agree with Charlie games don't have to be intense and thrilling to always be extremely fun.Sometimes it could be loose dumb Laid back funny corny and they still be fun in bits of Enjoyable action too
The art style and atmosphere of the game is based on classic film noir. It was popularized in the 40’s , it’s crazy to me that no one is familiar with early to mid 1900’s pop culture. By far the coolest era in American history. Someone literally called this “L.A Noire style” which is a great game but that game is also based on the film noir style. Everything being mentioned here, Bioshock, Cyberpunk, L.A Noire, Spider Noir, etc… These are all inspired by it.
Learning about film from less than a century ago is not exactly a staple of learning history. You say the "ignorance of people who never learned any amount of history" like black and white films are a massive turning point in history which is taught in every history class.
@@NathanWilson07 The film noir style reflected our culture throughout that period of time. Americans having no idea what American culture throughout the 1900’s looked like is slightly frustrating when they are discrediting the art styles origins and giving props to games or movies that are directly inspired by it. It’s literally our culture we’re talking about, it’s shocking how little people know about it.
One comment in this live chat speaks to my mental. Someone said when the car door opened that the city is "throbbing" The fact that the game captured that is awesome.
31:18 They don't want to continue investigating because they don't want to anger the one responsible for this. It's so obvious idk why Charlie couldn’t pick this up, an obvious trying to cover up a case cause higher ups don't want the problem.
It's different when you're streaming and playing at the same time! You're not paying attention to the game only so it's natural for your thoughts to be all over the place and not pick up on some stuff.
Yes you have been honest, that's why it's an unlockable decision. You chose an option to speak to Sara honestly, whatever that option was, which impacted the story and led to you unlocking that option
@@GageNevin what video games were there in the early 1900’s no shit this is noir based everyone with any amount of media knowledge knows that but there’s more specific examples people can compare it to. You don’t get baffled if people compare a fantasy setting to DnD because DnD is based on Lord of the rings like you have to understand that just because you like a time period or the origin of something doesn’t mean it HAS to be the reference point if there’s closer semblance. Like for this game you would be well in your right to compare it more to bioshock or cyberpunk because of the literal setting it’s taking place in and the visuals you’re given. If anything this is closer to bladerunner than your classic 40’s noir film and would be dumb to compare it back that far on anything besides story beats. Long comment short you’re the problem here man.
@@artfulsparton7642 You’re giving some people in this comment section credit as if they had any idea what it was, you are familiar with it, cool. You can’t pretend like half of those comments were though, it’s a pretty common part of our cultural history that is still around today, it’s just wild that so many Americans know so little about their own culture.
I'm enjoying the vibe of the game, I'm not totally sold that the gameplay is as dynamic as it could be, and much of the soundtrack is repetitive. I mean the same mystery noir beat is playing from moment to moment which is quite strange. I'm probably half to more than halfway through but hope it wraps up in a cool way
It kills me how clueless some of you are, the style of art you’re talking about is derived from film noir. Is no one familiar with early to mid 1900’s pop culture? That’s where everything you’re talking about got its inspiration from. Spider NOIR, L.A NOIRE, it’s literally in the fucking name. It’s the coolest time period in American history and kids think it’s some made up art style that just came out it’s so frustrating 🤦🏻 You’ve never seen a classic detective film? Did anyone pay attention in history class?
@@knellknight3701 I get what he's saying though. It would be very nice to have a detective game that heavily leans into the detective work mechanics but also expand on the rest of the gameplay. Especially in a settings like this one. I enjoy walking simulators with amazing stories, but I'd rather most games follow the RDR2 formula.
Awesome aesthetic, too bad we have seen it a million times already. This is literally Disco Elysium and Blade Runner mixed together with the FPS style of Bioshock. Yes its technically noir but its more cyberpunk than anything which gives you... you guessed it... Blade Runner and Disco Elysium.
Still can't get enough how easy Charlie folded up like a lawn chair to Jake Paul😂. We still like you homeboy don't worry. Careful who you talk shir to though. Just saying
Charlie plays games like a spazzy 14 year old who took too much adderall and wonders why he misses stuff. Stop blaming the game bro, it's not counter strike just slow down.
@@Jeremycook_ god what did do to become hungover from a video? I wake up at 5:30 every morning to work on cars in hot Aussie heat in a hot warehouse. What did this guy do that was so desperately tiring?
@@englishoutlaw7850 he did some abv(alchohol by volume) video on his other RU-vid channel. He mentions it at the beginning of his video about the acolyte star wars show. You don't have to do anything to be tired after drinking to much but I'm sure that doesn't happen to you because you're super tough and cool.
