Here's a double bill of Affro's Curiosities for you! I'm happy I can now experience SEGA CD games on my Mega Drive! A dream come true for me & this Everdrive is pretty sweet too!
Nice video! I primarily bought a Mega Everdrive Pro for my Mega Drive development projects, but I've also been using it to play the Mega CD games I missed out on as a kid (I had the system then, but couldn't afford to buy more than a handful of games of course). It's not exactly a hidden gem, but I would still recommend Snatcher, as I played it for the first time around last Christmas and found that it holds up remarkably well. I want to try the other similar type of games later this year (Rise of the Dragon etc)
Ah that's awesome, sadly I'm not talented enough to get into that field xD Ah I love Snatcher, been playing it many times on different emulators but it's great seeing it run on a real Mega Drive!
Took me a few hours of frustration to figure out the bios command folder thing I put a space between mc and d but after that mishap it was a payoff that was great to have
I looks like Sega CD really was a ahead of its' time; a wildly ambitious piece that somehow the gaming world wasn't exactly ready for. The craziest one for me was Road Avenger, because it was actually 3D before 3D was common in consoles. I really look forward to see more from this console if you get more games for it.
It wasn't that ahead, the PC Engine CD existed first although the Sega CD was technically more powerful:) Road Avenger was an FMV game, there's no 3D models at all :)
I remember seeing the mega CD as a kid and thinking FMV were the graphics and not just movies. It wasn't until I played an fmv arcade machine that I realised it wasn't really. Gutted child... Must be why I am such a bitter adult.
I grew up with the Mega Drive 2, but never owned the Mega CD, so some years ago I bought a Mega CD because I wanted to play especially Snatcher on real hardware figured out the game costs over 400USD, but also other games are overprices on eBay. So I have no games for it, thinking to get a Everdrive Pro or Mega SD. PS: The driving in Batman Returns is really difficult I have to say and I loved Eternal Champions, but I owned the cartridge version.
Ah I never owned either platform so when I found out about the everdrive pro line, I just had to jump on it because I always wanted a Mega/Sega CD :) It's amazing to be alive for moments like this to occur :)
Never too late for Sega ;). You know the Retrobit controllers. I got 1 with an original plug. They're really good quality. Also check Wolverine Adamantium Rage, I know it's difficult at first, but great music, great design, amazing animation and lots of combos for Wolverine.
@@TheAffroShowGameplay the king of understatement - too polite. It looked like a stinker. It was nice to see a double video release. Thought about softmodding that Xbox yet?
You know me, I try to be natural as I'm sure someone out there likes the game xD Oh definitely although I need to get some time xD It's limited these days but I look forward to getting it done!
@@TheAffroShowGameplay really? That must have been added because I heard the MEP didn't support sega CD save states originally. I was just hoping you could save the game normally without issue. Thanks
The mega cd wasn’t ahead of his time and the reason was the pc engine… they were the real pioneers . The mega cd has a few great games but unfortunately not enough back in the day to buy that pretty expensive device. I love it, don’t get me wrong ( I have the wondermega and the Megadrive) but I don’t play a lot of mega cd games nowadays. Great video bye the way
I still love the Mega CD, yes it was not the first to do what it did but there's a charm about it & several great games are on it, just enough to at least try it :) I'm a personal sucker for CD music so that always has value in my book :)
