The drivers side tire looked fairly bald on the outer edge. The second issue is the fact that the driver didn't really know the weight of his load! Scary driver. Great recover guys.
That boom section is from a Manitowoc crane. Before it can be used again, I will have to be inspected and certified by a licensed crane inspector. As for the truck driver that lost the truck and load, he is not competent to drive a truck again. It does not take much to see what happened here.
The scary statement was that the driver was not “familiar” with the load and didn’t know its weight. So this was a top heavy 50,000lb load held on with a couple of ratchet straps, no chains, and taking the turn way too fast. The list of citations would make my printer run out of ink!!
Closest I had to a pizza party at a call as a volunteer firefighter was a early morning house fire old row homes and it took out several, our local Dunkin’ Donuts dropped off all there first donuts for that morning which was a ton of donuts and lots and lots of coffee for us
Nice long video! Pretty cool stuff, but what that guy said in the beginning after y’all flipped the truck was wrong, if he was the driver he’s way out of line saying that, he’s the one who’s unprofessional flipping a truck like that
We talked about renting a light plant, but decided it wasn’t needed. There was plenty of light for the human eye, the camera just doesn’t pick up the light very well.
Yall need a Rotator I love having my 1150 RXP definitely worth the money elevating the need to call in a crane. 1075 next on our list, still waiting on the build to be done. 19month lead time sucks but definitely looking forward to seeing my 1075 rotator. Got a 40ton Rotator for Ya'll if you're interested. And a few Holmes 600R's best dam truck for the money and capabilities of having a Medium duty wrecker with capabilities to handle almost any type of call. And a rotating boom. But nothing compares to my 1150 and soon my 1075, maybe in a few years my brother and I order a M100 why not it's only money and except me him and our cousin ain't nobody else certified to operate her. Lol #R~PERMIT oh yeah
Good morning! Awesome video, another job well done brother! Can I make a suggestion? This is just a preference, but I absolutely love when you upload in 60 FPS just makes the videos look that much better I think 🙂😎 Be Safe out there as always!
I definitely prefer filming in 60 also, but because I’m having trouble with the camera overheating in the warmer months, I have recently had to drop back on the FPS. Once I get this battery set up figured out, I will be able to increase the FPS again
Nice recovery, sometimes its better to let the heavy team who is experienced direct you instead of you them. Always best to stay in your lane of knowledge saves being wrong at every turn.
Wow This was a great video I love how long it was. I would like to see you get your class a license And a Certification for a big Truck You're a very nice person go to Millers Is tur truck school You're very knowledgeable Get your certification Would love to see you in action
I think the truck driver was calling them f*** amateurs for the landing of the truck, which I agree with how Donnie does some of his jobs, most of the other towing channels I watch use catch lines for a gentle touch down, but pretty funny since he rolled the truck, so who is the amateur?
The purpose of a catch line is to stop it from rolling towards you, which is generally only a concern on high profile vehicles. Absolutely zero damage was incurred from rolling the truck back over on its wheels like this.
"I would run a snatch block down low personally" Really now would you. 😅 Guess the old guys done showed up the young buck. On how it's done. Quick and easy. Don't worry buddy I been in this business 21years, 3rd generation tow company owner and operator. You'll find that in a few years it's a walk in the park. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there. Sincerely your colleague, K. Harding and J Harding of Harding's Towing. My brother I appreciate your content. Keep it up. Ya ever get tired the Texas thing hmu come on up to the North East we'll hook ya up with a truck. Send ya to wrecker school our way Training in the 5130 side by side with a few old guys who been doing this all our lives. Stay safe and remember going home at end your shift to your family is more important than any dam Tow or Recovery, You do some good kid. Keep it up. HoooRahhh brutha. 👍
Y these dang drivers think they got to Indy 500 their freaking rigs on turns?! That dismal of a second you're trying to save often causes big down time like this!
For Wrecker Service that does a semi and everything you guys get need to get a little bit more rigging and stuff on your trucks to be able do what you need to do cuz when you run in something like this you need all kinds of things you never know when you're going to need them but you need all your rigging and you guys don't have it
Does anybody else hear dude that rolled the truck over in the first place, say, "f'n amateurs," when the truck rolled back on its tires. Like whose amateur here, lol
@Towtruck_Dustin I had to go back and listen again a couple of times. Right as you were pulling the chain off the front axle. I was thinking, "Man, you rolled your truck over, and you're pissed they put your truck back on the tires, dude. What do you expect?"
IMO It’s always best to let LEO know of your intentions when it comes to traffic control, that way they are setup by they time your getting into position.
The driver that rolled should know better then to ise straps on a 25 ton or 30 ton load like that. Chains amd binders and he would have never met you guys lol. Scary the shortcuts these guys take. Thankfully no 4 wheelers got taken out when he rolled
Chains and binders cause damage and weak points to the crane booms, extra strapping is required person height answers weight, I hauled cranes and booms for many years
First of all I know nothing about the towing business but what I see on RU-vid. Well anyway I watch a couple companies in California. and one in Oklahoma. Well they all do things different then you just did. Also they all have heavy wreckers with rotating booms. Does your companies have wreckers with rotating booms?
New to your channel i watch a lot of these types of videos man he doesnt care just hook to it pull it over all at once and i couldnt understand why no one was taking out the drive shaft then i got to think well they he just hooks to one and just pulls and lets come all at once he proabley doesnt even take out the drive shaft man i couldnt belivie he just hooked to and just pulled fast instead of easying it over i have a few friends that drive two trucks they would have never turned one back over that hard never i like your vidoes
🇬🇧 Hi Just found your channel on here , interesting problem on your hands , my only criticism is you have very poor on site Lighting for a Night time recovery , with the age of L E D lights surely all the equipment on site should be fitted with them , also as I am sure you are all aware De Walt Make some high beam telescopic lights which you can throw in any vehicle , and like you I was surprised that the Lorry Driver was Strapping down a 50 Ton piece of Equipment using only web Strapping alone and not doubling it up with Chains .
The GoPros don’t do very good with picking up light. That said, my normal truck doesn’t have very much room for those big lights, and most of the time we don’t have time to setup a bunch of stuff. Which is why I use personal lighting.
Because a catch line isn’t necessary unless you suspect the casualty is going to have a potential to roll over towards you when you right it. That’s generally only a concern on higher profile vehicles, like box trailers and such.
Personally, I prefer running the rollback, and doing the light and medium duty towing. If I get my CDL, it will be later down the road. Currently, I don’t have enough time to take the class.
@@Towtruck_Dustin I got my CDL 25 years ago not because I was a truck driver but because I was a heavy equipment mechanic. Now retired I drive a truck part time and even 45’ busses. It’s a great thing to have in your back pocket. I encourage you do get one, it won’t hurt you.
You can take the Cdl written test and get a commercial learner permit that your boss or another Cdl driver can sign off on and after 14 days you can take the driving test
Youre only supposed to tie down boom sections with straps unless it has designated tie down points for chain. Been in crane and rigging 15 years and you never put chain on boom sections.
A 25 ton wouldn’t have been enough. They ended up bringing in a 80 and a 100 ton crane, and the 80 ton had to setup right on it, and couldn’t boom down much because of the load.
The cops just call next on rotation. It’s our job to determine what’s needed. In this case, it changed as we went along. Went from us making the lift, to having to bring in crane’s because the driver didn’t know how much his load weighed.
Because no one around here really uses rotators. We had two on standby, but the crane company already the cranes enroute. They were small rotators that would have probably only barely got the job done, and they were just as far out as the cranes.
It was when you guys rolled the tractor and trailer over. I think he was upset casue you guys let it fall hard and didn't catch it with another winch line.
