Any more comments I get where people are saying the VST is available outside of purchasing a Montage M will be deleted. Yamaha has DIRECTLY confirmed that this VST will ONLY be available for those who purchase the Montage M Synthesizer. Stop spreading false information. If you don't own a Montage M, you cannot get this at this time. Friendly warning, thanks.
I saw rumors that say a full VST version would come for Summer 2024… that would be a great option so we don’t have to buy a Montage M to get the sounds. I would definitely pay between $199 and $349 for a plugin version only, in the range of what we get with the Korg Collection 4 and the Roland Cloud (unfortunately subscription only). Since I have also the EMU Kontakt banks, I could pretty much cover all my previous favorite hardware ROMplers, all In-The-Box with no keyboard or rack whatsoever. I’ve been dreaming of that like 20 years ago when I first heard about the Open Labs neKo keyboard, and then Muse Receptor, etc… I just wait for Korg to also add the Oasys/Krono instrument in their next version of Korg Collection. Slowly, all major keyboard manufacturers are finally proposing a software solution.
Inspite of the digital behavior of the soft synth this is good. I would love to get this software and hardware honesty I believe the board is a good investment
it'd be nice if this is eventually offered as a stand alone. it'd be pointless not to. if I had a montage M, I wouldn't need the plug in. and I'm not forking out $3500 for another synth I don't need (I already have 9) just to have a few new sounds I don't already have between my motif XS6 and the other 8 boards I have. even a rack with just the sounds and effects would be nice.
Just responding to a comment on KVR by a genius called 'Beely' who said "Whether Yamaha *also* make the plugin for sale at some point in the future remains to be seen. Certainly for now, Yamaha will be no doubt concerned that making the plugin for general sale could cannibalise hardware sales (which really would be losing income, as anyone who gets the plugin instead of the hardware because they want access to the Montage sounds/engine would be giving less money to Yamaha for it)." LOL - what a genius. Selling a pluging that costs NOTHING to manufacture (I don't mean to code in the first place, I mean to make downloads to people when they buy it) is NOT "losing income", it means making MORE income for Yamaha. Let's hope they finally do what Roland have done, (apart from the idiotic subscription service) and release VSTs of some of their best selling keyboards. (Like many people, I was banned from KVR for an unknown reason (they never tell you), and I can't be bothered to waste time commenting over there... Perhaps the 'genius' Beely will read my comments here!
Kind of weird to assume that a KVR user will show up here. Vent your frustrations on the KVR forum lol. (make a new account. I don't think they IP ban)
