Thank you Mr. Little at my local place after 10 or 11 o’clock there is a straddle and re-straddle almost every hand. I’m grateful for the advice. I wouldn’t mind except I don’t have the stack to play 3 to 5 times the bankroll without warning.

Straddles are sick when other people do it, I’ll usually ask at a tight table if we wanna do a round of straddles and if everyone agrees it definitely adds a lot of fun to the game

It is a strategy where you get everyone to limp for twice the usual amount then raise and a lot will fold. I think it's better on the button cause that buys the last play from the blinds AND you can raise to get at least some to fold.

2:15 My answer is because you want to create a wild image in a wild game. In a tight game you can also create a looser image. But now you have a loose image it's harder to bluff, easier to slowplay.

Interesting. I just played a 1/1 home game with a $4 Mississippi straddle. It was a fab game once I sat in the right spot. Almost everyone did the button straddle as it was rightly perceived advantageous. I didn’t know I needed to defend the blinds a bit-I just played super tight from the blinds but I like the idea of constructing limping ranges containing lots of good-flopping hands and some premiums... I think when computing a win-you can’t measure it in “big blinds” though right? I have to consider it in number of straddles right? So a $400 win in this case would be 100 straddles not 400 BB right?

I straddle when one or two loose passive players are right behind me. They open too wide and don’t defend well.

I'm always the guy that says NO to straddles (and bomb pots).

According to you, which is the best poker online poker platform to play...

He will say any legal, regulated site. In the US outside of a few states you don’t have any regulated options, and any unregulated site inherently puts your money at risk: these sites could shut down at any time and you would have no way to get your money back. Outside of the US, pokerstars and partypoker is generally what he recommends, but any legal, regulated site is fine. He prefers ACR for unregulated sites in the US because you can get good volume and use a HUD, but you should really only put money on there you don’t actually care about losing. “Just because there is a game, doesn’t mean you have to play it!”

@@josephking5078 thanks for your response, any view points on 'GG Poker'...?
@josephking5078

It’s licensed and regulated so you don’t have to worry about your money being unsafe. It caters more towards amateurs by not allowing HUDs, raking cash games somewhat highly, and (anecdotally) punishing people for game selecting/wrecking weaker players consistently. Seems like their tournaments are solid with reasonable rake though. I live in the US so this is all just stuff I’ve heard, I’d do your own research into the rake structures of each site if you really care about maxing value, and because your money is safe you can just pull out and go somewhere else if you don’t like a site.
