Saw this toy RC F1 car at the local Costco here in SoCal for $49.99. Awesome details on the car, not bad for the price but we knew it won't be as fast as the hobby / competition RCs. The RC is pretty nice, comes with a lithium battery and USB charger. Quite responsive and fun to drive, top speed is on the slow side which might not be a bad thing, it makes it more playable like in the backyard, driveway, cul de sac, etc. and makes it less prone to damage from going out of control. I attached a GoPro to the RC to get some fun FPVs. We enjoyed playing with it a lot so we went to Costco again this morning to get the Ferrari version lol.

Love the image stabilized on board camera!! I did a short choppy video of this a few days ago, nice to see someone else post a good video! Love the track! Yeah, the speed is meh at best, I think it's a decent display piece. but great to do 1 on 1 time trials and stay on course. Its all about knowing when to take you finger off the throttle to make the hairpin.

Hehe thanks, I just taped my GoPro and used my usual mountain biking settings, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked well :) The track is just the right size and layout to get some F1 feels. I agree that this is quite slow for an RC, but that's probably not a bad thing to keep it in one piece and so it's easier to play with and not dizzying with an FPV camera haha.

3:40 it’s ok, but I would’ve replaced the front tires with foam wheels or all 4 wheels for better handling. It looks fun and fortunate to have a track .

Where is this track?? I saw these at Costco yesterday… I was tempted… but the wife said ‘no’.., maybe XMas… but I have over 300 ‘real’ RCs already… ha ha

Lol you can buy it first and think about whether you'll keep it or return it after haha. Track is in our neighborhood park in Murrieta.

I saw the end film but how would you say the tires kept up? I have the same one as you but only a tennis court near me, wanted to know if the tires would get chewed up or not

Tires are ok, not chewed up and the texture on the tires are still quite good. I'm guessing the tires will wear out like rubber shoe soles eventually, but negligible wear for each run, just gets dusty.

Is there a way to do a battery upgrade or is it not possible with this model?

No direct way to do upgrades since it's more of a toy vs. hobby RC. But if you have the skills to do DIY modifications, it looks doable given the wiring and possible space within the plastic body. A brushless motor would be sweet too. But as is, the RC is very playable.

@The3RoasterToasters this is an older GoPro Hero 8 Black, with a foam sleeve to prevent wind noise and provide some protection because I just taped the camera to the RC to quickly mount it and experiment.

Yep not bad at all :) Good fun and the slow speed keeps it out of trouble I guess. Would've been good already as a model or toy car, RC playability makes it worth it :)

Call your local Costco and ask! Or try Costco online if they ship there. Also a bunch of people selling it on ebay but they have to mark it up to make it worth their while, so not such a good deal anymore.

This one is in Murrieta, sometimes referred to as Murrieta Raceway and is a small section of Mapleton Park.

That sucks, but hopefully it'll be easy to return and get it replaced at Costco... I guess just don't go during busy times to avoid the return line.

Have you tried the trim adjustment using the remote? Hold the sound effects button, once flashing turn the wheel to straighten the steering and while still holding the steering in your desired direction, let go of the sound FX button. The steering should remain at whatever you adjusted to. I hope this helps you out? I had no luck adjusting mine using the physical knob on the car and discovered this adjustment in the manual

I wasn't able to measure yet, but since this is more of a toy RC (vs hobby or competition RC), I would guess around 9-12mph. It runs on fairly low voltage with only a 2s lithium battery.

@@derekc6425 Lithium-Ion. 2s cylindrical cells, so I don't think it's Lipo exactly.
