Noticed that too 😂 how were they so civilized back then? Nowadays the kids would run and literally fight for those games inside the store LOL certain things do change for the worst I guess!
I never got a PS2 until 2003. I remember they were sold out the first year of release from 2000 to 2001. Surprisingly, I purchased the GameCube and Original Xbox on release day in 2001 at Target.
I got my ps2 slim black years later, it's years late ps3 already released but I always wanted to have one. It's ok to be late with these things when you're from a third world country but now even here, everybody always have the newest stuff.
Sega Dreamcast is better. So I don't know why they bought this overpriced DVD player in 2000. Dreamcast console is more attractive looking too. The original PS2 is not a looker. Slim Model I guess is okay looking but I still think Dreamcast is better looking personally. Looks aside Dreamcast has the legendary illbleed video game exclusive. Not just that but great games such as Power Stone and Power Stone 2.
everyone knows its not about the power of the console. the games are all that matters. dreamcast does not have enough exclusives thats why it lost the competition. having a lot of great exclusives, the ps2 became the highest selling home game console of all time
I'm a huge Dreamcast fan, and the multiplatform Dreamcast games that were later released on PS2/GC/Xbox are for the most part superior...but having that said the PS2 just had more. It was also the cheapest or one of the cheapest DVD players at the time. Prices of DVD players back then were outrageous. Sega's stupid business decisions also caught up to them.
Do you know they use the dvd format for games too and wasn't just a player to play DVD movies? DVDs hold much more data than what the Dreamcast GD disc format holds. That the reason why the PS1 defeats the N64. That why PS2 being a DVD player was so important. They could make bigger games with dvds without the use of disc swapping. That one of the reasons why PS2 defeated the DC.
