Did you try setting the video output to Y Cb/Pb/ Cr/Pr in the console? And second...did you connect/use the usb power cable provided with the cheap HDMI adapter?

Sort of, in most TVs does not work because you can't output 240p through HDMI, but if you have a TV that can output that resolution there are no problems

@Vesper F does using this converter introduce some input lag? My tv by itself is bad with input lag so if this just makes it worse i'll just stick to my composite cable on my old school crt

You can get freeMcboot and there’s a program u use on it to upscale the ps2 natively

There's no way a PS2 can output a game at 4k. Gran Turismo 4 has a 1080i mode and that's a minor miracle.

I've tried a good few different types of these converters and in all honesty I brought a good shielded component cable which does a better job in my opinion

@@cmoneytheman these converters are hit and miss, the ps2 only outputs 480p and is not going to jump the signal by using a converter, a component cable also outputs 480p all the converter box does is use that same signal but not all tv's support the hdmi converter, the best option of all is to get a backwards compatible ps3 as it has a smoothing feature

@Martin Weizenacker , this dongle-adaptor is a cost-effective solution to hook-up a PS2 via HDMI to a modern screen. Most folks - Mr Wicked as well, judging from what i have seen on his videos so far - demonstrate that this thing produces even better image quality than the Pound or Kaico Adaptors, which is crazy, if U consider that this dongle costs a fraction of their price (Pound & Kaico). Inarguably, the best PS2 Video output solution is the Official Sony PS3 Component Cable, together with a Framemeister, OSSC or any RetroTink devices (as U mentioned). But this solution would-will cost 200+ Euros, USDs alltogether ... which is something the average PS2 player is not willing to empty their pockets to ... If-when the time comes and a pure Digital to Digital solution is offered - like the Black Dog's PS1Digital Kit, which is neither cheap, nor easy to install - for the PS2 as well, this dongle is THE absolute value for money, for the image it produces, when it comes to PS2. Even if it breaks down, it is super-cheap to just buy another (unless it is also easy to repair) ... Anyway, these are my 2 cents on this ... Cheers

You just need an HDMI cable, the HDMI adapter shown in the video (and the usb cable it comes with), and a PS2. Connect the adapter to the back of your ps2, connect the “mini usb to usb cable” it comes with to the HDMI device itself and a USB port on your console (I believe it’s for powering the HDMI adapter), and lastly remember to change the output video settings of your ps2 to Y Cb Pb Cr Pr in the PS2s video settings. Thats how I did with mine, and it has been working good for almost a year. 👍

With freemcboot and GSM elf, you can force all games up to 1080i 60fps, gt4 ntsc looks very good on my slim

what you have is the absolute best you can get out of your ps2, these converters would most likely just introduce a little bit of input lag for no gain on image quality

Felt like I was going to ruin the connection if I kept the dongle in. I could use a PS2 to dongle extension.

If You want You Can also play it on pc with ps2 emulator they Update the emulator regularly and You Can change the graphic settings as You want too its better than the normal ps2 who runs on the Old graphic settings

How do you get it to work with a PSOne? I couldn't get any sort of video signal on mine at all...

​@@jggaming9670 PSX and PS One outputs RGB signal. This converter will not work with this console. Although you can use PS2 or PS3 to play PSX games on it.

I don't know for sure because it outputs a really weird signal.

@@TimelordUK the USB cable is only there to juice up the ps2hdmi and it doesn't have to do anything with image processing!

If you know 100% sure dongle and ps2 are working. Maybe the TV doesn't see the signal. Do you have maybe other monitor / tv with hdmi to test the ps2 with dongle on. Don't forget the USB cable for extra power to the dongle by the way.

Can be a TV support problem or your console is the problem. Edit - don't forget the usb cable for extra power 👌

@@WickedGamerCollector maybe however my Original Xbox had the clear signal when I tried it so maybe it could be the console. I'll try to see if I can connect it to the laptop. It has the same issue I have to send it to a repair shop.
