Fun fact: Reiko is actually based on a *real* person. Not even a woman, but her designer. He initially had no reference to work on 3D models so he just shaved and put on some make up, touched up the images a bit and BAM! They used an actual woman for the 3D model in R4 though, so no worries lmao. EDIT: Never thought I'd see you playing Ridge Racer. I don't wanna sound like a boomer but people these days don't really know how to appreciate the good arcade racers like RR and Daytona. By the way, Ridge Racer is the shit. Best arcade racer ever made and I'm mad Namco isn't making more of them.
This makes me imagine. What if you had a racing game where you run through destructible city environments & could attack other racers or destroy things to block the path behind you
Running High actually looked good. Shame it was only a Japanese title release. If it got polished up graphically and the control mechanic reworked this could actually sell in the US and Europe
I have lucid memories of playing and failing the demo of Rage Racer, and I recently got my hands on the full game, so I can honestly say I hate it more than the first two games. They couldn't get the Ridge Racer driving mechanics right until Type 4 onwards.
So they totally named this game Rage Racer to get some accidental sales from people who’ve only ever heard about Ridge Racer through word of mouth, right? To the game’s credit, though, the music is pretty damn legit. Edit: ok, just looked at the wiki. Never realized this was essentially Ridge Racer 3. Now I feel dumb... It explains why the music is so good, though.
