I see a lot of RU-vid comments ragging on the mic quality, but honestly it seems fine. If your teammates can clearly hear you during an online game that's honestly all you can ask for. If you're serious about recording a podcast, streaming, or making videos than obviously you would use a standalone mic.
If it won't Connect use a pin to poke the reset button on the usb than hold mute on the headset, while holding mute turn it on... should be good to go!
When you was talking to your mate was you using it wirelessly? I've just picked these up but haven't spoke to anyone with them yet. I've heard there is a popping sound when using wireless.
I had one Gold Headset, the hinges broke through regular wear, after about 3-4 months. Got a new headset replacement from Sony, I babied it so hard. I never folded it, and was gentle with it always. After about 3 months I noticed the hinges plastic was a whitish blue...they broke a few days later while I was wearing it. I taped it up with electrical tape, the other hinge broke, and I taped it as well. Really tightly. Then the band started cracking in multiple areas. And I taped the entire thing up. It still works, it's just like a bootleg looking headset with black electrical tape all over it. lol I think the issue is, is my head is just too large for the base Gold headset, and I think that might be the issue that a lot of users have, and why they break. I ordered the platinum, hopefully that will fix the issue of the headset breaking every 3 months or so.

Great channel ! 👍🏻 i have three Playstation headsets ( elite pulse , 2.0 & now platinum ) I like high volume but I think platinum is not that loud like 2.0 on 2 bass settings or pulse on shooter/game mode..
David if you have the money it's worth it just for the extra battery life. The sound is a bit better as well as the mic. If you play uncharted 4 you have the 3D audio on top of that. I don't like telling someone to buy something in case they aren't happy. However I'm really happy with my purchase. Entirely up to you mate..
Idk if people play games to loud for to many years now but these things can get loud. Also i would think people aren't keeping in mind in the future more games with 3d audio could come out for ps4 and as well as ps5. I just got these and plan on keeping them for a while
The chat audio is pretty nice but if it’s turned up to the max (idk why u would it’s too loud for me and would hurt your ears after a few minute) it would echo becuase the mic is so close to the ear cup and it picks up audio and makes the echo but I don’t see a need to turn them up that loud but other wise some of the most comfortable headphones and best sounding I recommend
Im having the most diffifult tome finding a new headset. I dont exactly have time for research and my hearing is horrible I just need a loud headset with the ability to hear footsteps . Astro a40s are not working out for me . any recommendations?
That rubber-band feels so bad is pushing my head down so bad, and I'm not sure about the radiation or the Bluetooth if is too bad or not but this is my first wireless headset and makes me have headaches.

MyKeyReviews I don't know this is my first wireless headset and I have headache every time I use it, but with my other headset that is a wired headset I never had a headache, I'm not sure if is the wireless radiation of the Bluetooth but I'm sure that I'm having headaches since I'm using this wireless headset
LiilReyy It the Rubber Band top of you're head. It kinda hurt when you're using it. But I guess wear a Hat so you won't get headaches. Sorry for late response.
Had my golds for 2 months, I sit on a beanbag while playing btw, they fell off my head and the metal rod connecting the ear cups to the body fell out, and there is a tiny piece of plastic thats really loose holds it in, never worked again because that’s the conductor
Loving your videos I have viewed so far! Going off your 2.0 review, I guess the Platinum price in the UK is about double? £75 vs £130? No doubt it can be had cheaper through places like amazon. Here in Oz, the 2.0 is $99 and the platinum is a pathetic $259! Almost triple. Another advantage the 2.0 has is that it works with the PS3 and VITA (TV, I guess anyway. I have a TV but not a VITA). I am sure there would be far more 3D Sound enabled games now, so is it worth it? I am about to buy a SONY A1 OLED TV and wanted some nice headphones seeing as I can't fit a surround set up in my bedroom.
*A Shaw* Woah, that's a huge price jump for you guys in Oz; I would say it's not worth that leap in price and to stick with the 2.0's. Alternatively, if wires don't bother you; my current set-up involves the Turtle Beach 'Elite Pro Tournament Gaming Headset and TAC', which you may be able to get in a bundle.
I just bought mine and the sound is not that loud at all! Unlike my old PS4 Headphone it is really loud and the Bass is really good. I don't know if the unit that I have is defective?
Check from 7:50 when talk about the two different volume buttons: Overall volume and the chat/sound ratio; it may be that it's more in favour of "chat", so if you click on "sound" a couple of times and that should bump up your gaming volume. Hope this is the solution! :)
Appreciate the information. Would there be any issues if one were to put the USB dongle in the rear port of the PS4 Pro? Would this cause interference? Also, this operates on the 2.4ghz frequency?? Surely that's going to lead to crackles/audio pops?? Why didn't they go with 5? I'd really appreciate it if you could try the dongle in the rear port on your PS4 Pro, just to see if it fits ok and doesn't cause any added interference. Cheers ...
*London Fella* I have just tested it out on the rear USB port and can confirm it works perfectly fine. Did a mic recording test and no crackle or pop. Probably would have been better if they used a different frequency, but it seems to work fine as is. Hope this helps! :)
*London Fella* On top of what I previously said, when I went to remove the dongle from the rear, it's rather close to the vents which can get warm. So if you do decide to put it there, keep an eye on it.

My fight stick fitted without issue on my original PS4, but it's extremely tight on my Pro. I now use a USB extension cable, as I'm not happy about squeezing it in there (can't be good, right?). As it does operate on the 2.4ghz frequency, can you confirm whether or not you have experienced any interference with the headset? *London Fella* I've had a USB stick and normal USB cable beside it and they fit fine, so no qualms there. I've had no interference or issues so far, so I'm not exactly sure why others have had experienced such issues. Opinion still stands, I like the headset, just think it's a tad over priced in comparison with the Gold headset. I'd say check out some reviews and a mic test on the other headset you're considering and go from there. Always happy to help. :)

My gold headset broke on the right ear after 3 months of usage. Than in almost two year use it broke in overall in 4 places: both ears where they bend and in 2 places on top. So now they are all in scotch tape. Also earbuds are worn out. And they are not changeable like on Platinum. I use it every day. Recently got a Platinum on sale 40%!!! And I say that they are much better. So in my opinion go for Luxury :) Nice review by the way! :)))

I seem to have a problem with the game volume being too low on the headset, while the chat volume seems to be fine. I tried the Sound/Chat button, but it didn't seem to fix it. The chat volume faded away, while the game volume remained the same (low). I noticed this to be a problem while the headset was low on battery, and I haven't charged them, as it was night and I didn't want to let them charging the whole night. Maybe that is why? I just got the headset about a week ago, so I'm still learning how to use them. Any help is appreciated.
*GVRCIA* Definitely give the headset a full charge and hopefully that will help. If you know how to adjust the ratio and follow up with the general volume button, then there's no reason for it to be quiet. 😮
Ended up buying a set of the new Astro A50 Wireless, with Base Station. HORRIBLE hollow, reverb sound! Sometimes it sounded like you was in a bathroom! Returned them, the day after I received them. I'm now waiting for a certain retailer to restock this Platinum headset, and I'll buy them. I'll have to buy a separate set for my Xbox One S. However, at these prices I'm ok with double dipping! A concern of mine was the rubber head band on this headset. However, my eagle eye tells me that if it were to split (over time), it can easily be replaced? Looks like it can just slip off? Now that you've had more time with this headset, can you confirm whether or not you are still happy with them? Has anything changed, with regard to your view of them? Also, with regard to these not being bassy (re explosions, etc) can you not simply up the bass with the companion app? Lastly, just read some reviews on Amazon and many people are complaining about a buzzing noise coming from the headset? This is (apparently) most noticeable when there happens to be no sound coming through the headset? As always, thanks ...

London Fella hi returned them after 2 days what lost balls people telling so many lies because the getting them for free and making you buying, but make shore that if you don't believe us that the Sony platinum are rubbish even with uncharted 4 buy them from amazon because you can easily return them

Can you change the party Sound WHEN you are gaming. I have Razer Headset now. And everytime i join party i have to put game volume down in the game menu's so i can hear my mate better. That is annoying. Can you do this on this headset ?
*Green howl gaming howl* They are compatible for the PC, however if you're looking for a headset purely for PC use, you may find headsets made specifically for the PC could be a better option. :) A fair amount of people liked using the Gold's on the PC, so as these are better on the PS4 than the Gold's, they should be better on the PC too.
I've since gone through other headsets. I mainly use wired now. These would still be fine in regarding quality in 2019. Another good headset is the Turtle Beach Stealth 600.

Does it have to be fully charged? And how do I know when it is. While charging, it's red. I can't get it to connect to the adaptor. Maybe that's the reason? That it's not fully charged?
*Viponix* When fully charged, the LED should turn blue if I remember correctly. Don't have to be fully charged, you just get more use in one go. Try a headset reset, that should do the job.
MyKeyReviews how do I reset the headset if the adaptor light doesn't even come on. It's not established any type of connection to the game at all. Thank you for responding. There's not light emitting from the adaptor, very frustrating. I've tried poking the hole in the adaptor, nothing.
Sidetone? Activated by holding the mute button down, hold it down again to bump up sensitivity, then again to disable. The sidetone feature isn't great though.
i cannot get my platinums to pop up under bluetooth. how do I even get them to sync with dongle plugged in. im stuck! how do i get them into discovery mode or whatever so they are recognized

*nick Wilkes* If you're hearing game audio but not chat audio, you need to press on the chat on the chat/game ratio button on the headset, then adjust the overall volume with the main volume button.
Hard to say when I've never used the 'HyperX Cloud 2'. I'd say if yours are still doing the job and you're happy with them, then there's no real need to upgrade.

Lucky for you mate! you get your headset working well. Unfortunately I had to exchange twice to let it work for me. I was unable to upload uncharted 4 and shooter exclusive audio mode to my platinum headset. The reason why being is after when I upload to my headset and close the Headset Companion App and then reopen the application...It is no longer stored in the preset 1 or 2....And its empty...This never happened to me when I used to own gold headset....:( Finally got Astro A50 and it works pretty well

With the setting you use, can you hear the footsteps of people well? I have these headphones, but if I turn the bass up I find that I can't hear the footsteps as well and everything else is too loud.

Hey, I bought a pair of these last night and all good so so far except every time I turn my PS4 pro back on the audio modes ( presets I have loaded) are no longer saved in either slot ( 1 and 2). I am wondering if you or anybody has had or is having a similar issue? Any responses appreciated. Thanks
Same for me; they are definitely saved as the audio differences are there depending on which profile you have switched too. Though I'm pretty sure when using the Gold headset, the uploaded profiles are visible. :\
MyKeyReviews so, you reckon the presets are still saved after switching the PS4 back on but just not visible anymore? How can you tell your chosen presets have been saved still? You don't think that you need to load them back into each slot after restarting the PS4?
*Barry S* Pretty certain they're saved to the headset. I now have the bass setting on profile 2 and there's a difference in sound, so it must've been saved. :o
