@@KaitoLopez124si fue un gran punto a favor pero la Gamecube también se podía piratear y la Xbox prácticamente se le podía agregar juegos piratas sin necesidad de disco, con piratear no se hace nada si no se tiene buenos juegos y el catalogo de PS2 fue uno d elos mejores de la historia
To be honest always was surprised that marketing got Nintendo so far because underwhelming hardware and crap selection of games would slaughter Xbox or Playstation
Very few people care about bleeding edge power and you are in the minority saying they have a crap selection of games. Nintendo games are widely regarded in the industry as some of the best.
I always found it cool how Nintendo always had something in the fray to help soften the blow and remain competitive. When the GameCube was struggling, the DS was there to pick up the slack. When the Wii sank like a stone, the 3DS was there. And when the 3DS finally ran out of steam, here comes Nintendo Switch.

@@Heleskyonroad I got nothing wrong. The Wii and Wii U are different consoles, the 3DS didn't saved Wii. Wii U was a commercial failure not Wii. The Wii U and 3DS sales together don't reach the sales the Wii got. You're the one getting something wrong here...
Lack of good games and jrpgs support is the reason xbox never took off in Japan , not only Japan but the whole asian continent i would say .. If xbox wants to attract the Japanese market first they have to do heavy japanese local games support...
I had the PS1 and PS2. Sadly was never able to get PS3 and PS4 but finally, now that I'm an adult I was able to make the money and got myself a PS5 recently. I've missed having a console at home to play with.
I had the same experience as you, I only had ps2 back in the day but now that I'm an adult I was able to get myself a ps5 and a PS deluxe subscription, I'm having a blast!
@@Alienisolationistit's less that they had bad blood and more that Sony actually allowed them to place their games on discs instead of cartridges or mini discs which had significantly less space. The N64 may have been more technically superior but can't really use that technical superiority when the entire game has to fit on a cartridge.
Despite the red rings from the Xbox 360, I have no regrets buying it because of Halo 3, Gears of War and Gears of War 2. I had the most kills with the brute shot weapon on multiplayer with around 13K kills on Halo 3. I had the second most exp points on Social Skirmish playlist (5 vs 5) around 9,300 exp points without boosting. 100% achievement completion on Halo 3 and Halo 5. On Halo 5 I had more than 31,000 grenade kills with a Kill/death ratio at 1.87 hardly using the sniper rifle. When I reached 31K grenade kills before I retired playing Halo 5, I was ranked #3 in grenade kills in the world. No regrets.
I had a Playstation 2, and I enjoyed it a lot, but when I reached high school, I fell in love with a girl in this high school, and I had to sell it In order to buy a mobile phone so that I can call this girl, but she got married two months later
Switch is still doing a good job, i think Nintendo don’t have to upgrade in the next 4 years, they actually don’t have any competitor to compete. People think console wars is between 3 big name, but actually its only between Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo has their own realm
@@lamhoang8986 even ps4 PlayStation's 2nd most selling console of all time still in number 5 in nearly a decade. While the switch just exist for 6 years and already in top 3. The ps2 need nearly 12 years to reach 159M so there's a huge possibility. If Nintendo not discontinuing the ds in 2012 it can surpass ps2 easily
Oh, now I know where all my money went to. 💸 PS1, Sega Dreamcast , PS2, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, DS, 3ds, PS4, switch, PS5 but my heart ❤️ Sega Genesis and NES.
The craziest thing about the console market is that nowadays there are really only 3 products Switch, PlayStation and Xbox and each of them with a by-product. There's no room for anything else, there's just the Steamdeck over there in the corner and maybe the Rog Alli, but they're not really new products.
It’s because the cost of everything has ballooned in the last two decades and you have to sell your console at a loss for the first few months or even years. I heard that Microsoft is still selling the Xbox SX at a $100 loss so they reduced the SX production and now it’s harder to find Xbox SX in stores.
which is a good thing, with 10 more overpriced consoles and good games being exclusives how can a gamer live on to play all those games, now we live in a time were convergence exist
The Rog ally released June 13th 2023. I’d say that’s extremely new lmao. And if you’re talking about design and functionality, still new. Never been done before.
Doubt it would sell less even without the DVD. It's practically the best console during that generation especially with its huge quality game library and backwards compatibility with PS1 games compared to GameCube.

Console Wars Makes the gaming industry interesting as well as makes the gaming landscape diverse and consumer friendly. Just look at some of the gaming franchises that have Spawned due to a Console War..... Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, The PlayStation brand, ext...... There are more franchises I could mention but I'm sure you get the idea! Let's ALL support and Celebrate the Legacy of Console Wars. Maybe Microsoft will get the hint and make good to great 1st party games again like Sony & Nintendo currently do!
As long as there is competition amongst video gaming consoles then there will be fans and a console war. At the end of the day competition is good for the consumer and good for the industry.
@@bossredd-77 i think i kinda understand that. but what if, hypothetically, the whole industry came together to pool their knowledge, resources, etc to make 1 epic console with epic games, where ALL games would work on it without porting, glitching, etc issues so all gamers can play all games regardless of them not being economically justified or rich enough for buying a 2nd console just for 1 or 2 exclusives they wanted? n the whole industry used their time n resources from marketing, into actual gaming stuff
As for me, I've had Gameboy, SNES, Playstation, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance SP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS XL, Xbox One X, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X. Both of my Nintendo Switch consoles are still brand new sealed in a .5 mm plastic protector case with 8 physical games still brand new and sealed as well. I own around 400 physical games.

When will ppl realize that "Console Waring" is the BEST thing for the gaming industry as a whole??? If the "Console Wars Mindset" was in Microsoft's playbook, their 1st party would not be what it is today(and it's looking REALLY BAD). The idea as a company to be Better than your competition and offer things the the competition does not offer is what made the Legendary Sega x Nintendo era of Console Wars just that...Legendary. Why?...Because developers had to think outside of the box to 1-up the competition for that almighty consumer dollar! Sony still has this Company Mindset(secretly Nintendo does too to an extent) and this is why we see Better 1st party games and innovative ideas from Sony and Nintendo to this day! Support All forms of Console Wars my friend!..... "Let's Make Gaming GREAT Again"!
All I saw in your post was someone who spends too much money on entertainment & cant be satisfied with 1 so has to spend thousands for all. I got rid of all that junk, I'm happy with just a PS5 & virtual reality
Wii U lacked the exclusive games, mostly fighting games franchise such as Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. Xbox 360 is worse than Wii U, and Sega Saturn.
This wont happened for simple matter that these games are not profitable enough. They've already shut down Japan Studios who made them those kind of games like Gravity Rush . Currently in Japan only Nintendo matters and Playstation or Xbox are almost non existent there. Majority of Japanese gamers also hate the new route which Final Fantasy XVI took.
Thank god for competition. Just Imagine how bad games would be without it💙✌️ Personaly I usually have all the consoles but Xbox has been my most played. Switch has been awesome but currently playing Bulders Gate 3 on PS5 which maybe my favourite game of all time.
I had a ps3 growing up we skipped out on ps4 (or any console that gen) cause my dad didn’t want to buy a new console when we already have a good one at home but I am getting a ps5 very soon and am hyped
Oh yeah. Want to guess why? Pokemon. The 1st and 2nd generation games specifically. But that wasn't all theirs alot of good games that were on the Gameboy. Several big games like Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Kirby were on it as well.
The Switch on a tech level isn't all that, but if you look at its full first party library... it just makes you want to get a Switch. And that it's portable is really cool. The PS2 was just the GOAT, not as many first party games as the Switch but it was fully backwards compatible with the PS1 which had a great library as well and it could also play DVDs which at the time was a big deal. The DS appealed to non gamers as well as gamers, my little sister had one of those and she didn't even know what a GameCube was.
I prefer the xbox cuz yeah PlayStation has the best exclusives as it got its own smash game, but Xbox is just funner to play and has an easier controller to use. And it was definitely the funniest for online
