I needed a strong and heavy-duty mount that would allow me to use my 10-inch tablet in my Toyota Aygo. I tried a few others but this one worked best for me within the limitations of the small and angled vehicle dashboard.
In the box, you receive the holder itself, two magnetic pads and a metal base for the 100g suction mount. Build quality seems fine, the holder is quite large, heavy-duty and it all seems built to last although it is by no means small or discreet. But then it needs to be strong to support the weight of a 10 inch tablet
The mount can be angled up or down, rotated fully left and right and the magnetic mounting pad on the arm can also be rotated and orientated independently. Contracted the arm is 197mm in length and extends to up to 240mm. The suction mount can be used with the metal base or directly on the windscreen or any smooth flat surface. It should work with any phone or tablet up to 10.5" in size, we are told, and from my experience, this is perfectly accurate.
The device is mainly designed for vehicle use but there is no reason it cannot be mounted on a desk or elsewhere in the home as it is attractively designed for what it is and should fit in pretty much anywhere.
My car has a small and rough surfaced binnacle area, not wide enough to allow the suction mount to work and so I used ziplock ties to secure the base plate to the air vent and then stuck the suction mount to it. I was able to depress the mount arm below 90 degrees to allow the tablet to sit vertically when positioned on the slightly angled dashboard surface. This was the only car mount I tried that was able to do this.
So far it seems good and stable in use - my 10.5" Amazon Fire tablet has not fallen off yet and I would be happy to use it with any phone or tablet of normal size.
At just under £20 before discounts, it is not the cheapest out there but it works well for me.
