I completely get where you are coming from, I’ve always felt that I’ve not wanted to conform, not in a bad way, but always felt that why should I follow what other people do or follow the same paths. I still feel like I want to fit in and seek people’s validation (no idea why!) should take a leaf out of your book and just follow my dreams and do thing that make me happy!

Very inspiring video. As someone now in their 40th year, I find the pressure of conforming is there at times. I also don’t really want children but open to meeting someone to share the little moments with. Like you I have worried so much about what I said or do. Trying not to do that as much anymore!

I’ve been in tears for the last few days because I don’t seem to have any value except for what I can do for others. I’m 63 and my siblings seem to believe that I’m on this planet to facilitate their lives, their dreams They’re older, controlling and manipulative and I don’t stand a chance. I don’t know anymore what my dreams might be. I have ADHD and every day is a struggle, I live in chaos.I’m trying to pull away and I’m so tired and lonely. I’m midway through treatment for stage three melanoma and it’s exhausting. Sorry to dump my emotions but your video hit home and you’ve given me hope and, as always, cheered me up with your beautiful personality and spirit. It seems so inappropriate to post this but it’s been a huge relief to get it out in a safe space xxx

Social media is a big strain on what everyone's true potential can be the algorithms used have alot to answer for the intrusive posts it presents to you because it's read your messages and what youve talked to other people about, I hate it. Ellie, I'm in my early 50's and I never had children and I don't want them either!!! I was also bullied during my school years and in various jobs and you will be made to feel like it is all your fault but it is not, they are the ones with the problem!!! Never ever feel bad about doing what you want to do!!! You are responsible for your own happiness and no one else's!!! I know I have probably said this before, but I will say it again I hope that you do find the path that you want and I hope that you continue to share it on you tube!!! Absolutely...just do you and not the pier pressures of live and those around us. I never had children, never wanted them. Didn't want marriage, didn't want to be tied down. It isn't for everyone. When I lost my mum and dad, almost went myself 9 years ago, I thought that was it, but I made a new family over in the US and they are the most beautiful family I could wish for. The kids became uncle Steve's kids and I'm so blessed to have them in my life and saw one of them with his mom and dad over the past few weeks. Everyone's journey is different and there is no set course. There's an old saying...You're a long time dead, so make happiness in your life count. I've got a couple of years left and am doing what I want, when I'm able to. I'm grateful for that. Just knowing that I matter to those I love is enough and returning that love is special. My life is mine to do with as I want and I will go happy, just as I'm living. Much love lady, hope you have an amazing rest of the week ❤

Wow. Alright, so this is probably one of the most close-to-home videos you have made to date. Thank you for sharing. It's comforting to discover more people who are living a similar life mindset. I have many times felt like the odd one because I didn't necessarily want what I thought I was supposed to want. It's uncanny, but I am, have felt, and have been through at some point, just about everything you talked about. I'm sure Im not the only one. I personally have become unapologetically selfish about exploring and discovering what my life can be for me. I know that I'm not for everybody. I accept this, and because of that, I put a lot of effort into looking for and nurturing who and what is a good fit for me, and vice-versa. In this I have a long way to go, and sometimes I have to settle for it just being what it is, but I find I am much more content these days. I'm really fortunate to have stumbled upon your channel. Ellie, I’m glad that you’re doing things how you want to do them. We got married when we were 20 because we wanted to. We did not have children for the same reason as you. Our parents never ever said “when are you giving us grandchildren “. They said it was our life and we should live it as we pleased. Other people would ask us and were shocked that we didn’t want them. We were married almost 44 wonderful years when he passed away. It’s been 6 years and I miss him every day. I am so thankful for the best friends in the world!. So do what makes you happy , you never know what tomorrow brings. Hugs 🤗💜

Thank you. It's been a great video and it's obvious that it's been hard for you to talk about some of these things. The trouble is we have things ingrained in us from an early age and start believing that's the correct thing to do etc. My daughter was a "big girl" at school and was bullied so I can understand what you have been through. She's still getting over it and having therapy which helps but I keep telling her to think about what she's achieved in life rather than the negative things. I'm glad you're getting sorted and I'm going to show my daughter this video as I think it's well explained and will do her good to know someone else went through similar and has turned out ok in the end.

you are so right. make that choice when your young, dont settle or put yourself into a position where you think you should comply. i only learnt that age 44. mortgage, kids and 19 yrs into a marriage. its scary that what if i knew then what i know now, life would have been different. but also confidence and finding yourself takes time and i can take a long time to understand and know who you are.

I was always a bit unconventional and did my own thing, up until my early 20's when the shoulds and shouldn'ts took hold and I tried to fit into everyone else's expectations. It was disastrous! I didn't start really being myself again until my 40's, but even then I slipped back a bit for chunks of time. It's only now, finally, in my 60's that I feel right in my own skin and am living the life I want to live (almost). Better late than never, but far far better to break out and be who you are and want to be when you're younger! Keep being you Ellie and doing what YOU want to do with your life x

I’m sorry you were bullied , I got bullied all my schools life because of my weight , secondary schools (high school) was worst for me bcos it was bullying bcos of weight and bcos I didn’t know my dad , apparently that’s something that’s my fault 🙄 I don’t think you realise how brave you are , your sitting talking about how you’ve always wanted to be more confident and do what you want while telling us all these things you’ve done and I don’t know if you truly realise that what you’ve done is amazing . Seems you are able to step outside yourself and see who you really are. I think you dodging all the paths that make you unhappy has allowed the realization of what is best for you. I'd say you have a plan in life where most of us hobble along not really able to find happiness because of the responsibilities we have that ended free thought. No time for deep thoughts. Work, kids, family is all there is. It should be enough but isn't for some like you, I think. You're a brave girl stepping out of your comfort zone and doing all the outings and traveling that you do. It's fun to watch your adventures.

Do what makes u comfortable and happy its not worth taking yourself down a dark path a relationship is a good example its worth walking away if u don't want to go down the path i just got out of a relationship after 9 months the girl blocked me didn't even tell me she wanted to break up the new boyfriend was rude and a punk tried to be her friend he made it impossible i decided to walk away not going down the path i was trying to keep i told myself I'm out of here I'm done I've been heart broken twice not happening a third time i know the feeling when u try to go down a path and it doesn't work out

Just follow your heart and enjoy it really enjoy it and when you get that bad feeling in your gut(your spirit) listen and act on it . Could be not to go someplace or do something you have plans even if you get it at the very last moment x ❤

Right then, young lady……your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to plan and carry out a trip around Great Britain. Predominately the coastline or as close to it as physically able. How you do it, or when you do it, is up to you but the only rule is…..once you start it, you cannot return home until you finish it. I did this once, about twelve years ago after i left the army….i had no marital or parental responsibilities so therefore had no restrictions of any kind to hold me back. Should you do it, you will enjoy it….and it’s very good for your mental health, i speak from experience 😊

Wtf? You were married? At 23? Fuck that. You hit the nail right on the head. Too much pressure is put on people to do crap they don’t want to do. Travelling now is a lot easier. It’s also easier to work on the road, especially now Skylink is here. You can be in the middle of the Australian desert and still Work if you really needed to. I’ve been told that I should stay in this little place that I am but it would financially be better for me to get out and put the rent money in my pocket, instead of somebody else’s. All through life, you get people telling you what you should do, and really, how the hell do they know? They are not you. The beauty of the human race is that everybody is different. Otherwise we would all be zombie robots or some stupid shit. I think some of the Aussie attitude helps here because we work to live, not live to Work. We enjoy making money to spend on. Things like boats, caravans, campers, etc. The two highest selling cars in Australia at the moment are both four-wheel-drive utilities. we can use them for work during the week and for leisure on weekends. We like to get out and do things and not give a shit about anyone else for a couple of days. Just imagine how good the world would be if people could just do their own thing, as long as it was legal of course. That’s my plan. So ❤️‍🩹Eleanor, you just keep doing what you want to do and don’t give any fucks to people who tell you what you should be doing. And if one day you do decide to come out to Australia, just do it. I will make sure nothing happens to you out here. Just remember, you only live once, unless you are a Buddhist of course then you live an infinite amount of times. Thank you for providing inspiration and an insight into your life. Some content creators pretend to be living a perfect life and so I'm glad you don't and are honest about your experiences. Sorry to hear about the bullying experience at school, it must have been isolating and anxiety inducing. I didn't put on weight until I was 18 and so I can't imagine what bullying around weight at school was like. There have been several fat shaming incidents this year which has made going out in public stressful, though I'm trying my best in terms of exercise and cutting out certain food and drink.
