The amount of anxiety I got watching Mark fiddle around in a room taking his sweet ass time reading every single email under the sun while he left the door wide open-

The frustration and agonizing despair i felt for Matt at the ending was unreal

The voice acting is superb, Matt has so much emotion in his voice.

I really love Mark's reaction during the moment where Matt has to choose between who to kill and who to save. Something about it is so genuine. I think it's clearest when he yells "I'm not a slave to you!"

Idk if anyone else has pointed this out but your idea on the off parts of the game show being the actual show make sense because when you get caught they play advertisements for cigarettes

Something that always horrifies me is when people take real and actual enjoyment from others' suffering. To me, this kind of horror is my favorite.

This was one of the saddest games I’ve seen that aren’t meant to be inherently sad. Like the feeling of everything you’ve done to save someone and the only person you trusted just being an orchestration is the saddest reality of them all. To learn everything youve worked for didn’t matter in the slightest.

I'm surprised no one clarified for Markiplier the question he had regarding the leak. He got an achievement for finding the leak because Sandy was the one leaking company information to the public, and that little bug thing was probably the back door she used to funnel information out of their server without the firewall catching her.

just saw the kickstarter for this game was cancelled. I'm really sad for the whole team but 51,000 is a lot to ask for a game that didn't get a lot of attention from what I've seen. Still sad, hope they open a new one some time.

the fact that all of this everytime just leads to the same ending is like the most terrifying thing in this whole game cuz like no matter what you do, how hard you work, every decision you'll make will not even matter. this game is so unbelivably heartbreaking i would like a continuation (also more endings because a linear story is just interesting for one play and then you know everything that happens in the next playthru so it just gets pretty boring)

There is a sequel to this that is in the making called It will find you, I believe its a continuation of this story just in case you wanted to have a continuation.

Once they finished with matt, they started doing the same to julia. Like at the end, u heard the voice from the robot lady saying to julia what she said to matt at the beginning

This is even scarier to think about from an audience perspective. If you turned on the TV one day and saw a new 'reality' show about a man isolated in a small apartment, even if it became very obvious that he's there against his will and does not want to continue, you'd probably just think that's part of the act. Not a lot of people would become that worried about what's really going on because they'd think it's just part of the mystery. You'd just be watching, thinking, "I mean there's no way that person isn't an actor, right?" without any the wiser that you're watching a man be broken down to his lowest possible state of emotion for your entertainment.

For anyone that wants to know if you press the other button, nothing changes its just a different voice line that says hopefully she forgives you, same ending where Stacy is producer and Julia is alive

Markiplier: i haven't spent 5 years isolated from anyone with no only this random faceless voice to talk to Also Markiplier: *has played Presentable Liberty and went through roughly 1-5 hours doing exactly that*

That ending was just...positively heartbreaking. Like...wow. Talk about a knife in the back. And the heart.

Man when these kinds of endings are done well, I absolutely love them. In a hopeless situation and when you think you finally have some flicker of hope it's just snuffed out at the end, really love that kind of ending when its done well.

At the end I was there "screaming" at Matt to use the hammer and kill himself so he doesn't have to go through more of that show. What a great, immersive game.

Mark Doesn't Close Doors Simulator

This is a really interesting concept, but I must say, I’m also disappointed that the devs didn’t consider the player just refusing to make a decision.

The voice acting is so amazing it actually made me feel for the characters.

Who kept yelling at him to close the door when he entered a room while trying to escape? The eyeball security thingies cant get in the rooms to get you if you close the door.

Everyone! You need to rewatch the beginning of the video, with the interview with Harry, AFTER you finished the video!! There are so many things to notice: “Tell us, how that one got away” (did he escape in the end?) “Contacted by the ethics council” (maybe they realised that this dude was being tortured??) “Five seasons before catastrophe stuck” (But the end of the game said there’d be ten???)

The best part about the game itself is the voice acting. This is like professional grade stuff. These developers really deserve some great things.

Matt was requiring help, he felt trapped. The show kinda reminds me of the feeling like everybody’s there, but no one helps you, when you’re asking desperately for a hand to grip on. Or even like they’re watching Matt and laughing like depression is no big deal. Julia was his solution, he kind of knew it the whole time, but it was just so hard to get to it. Stacy acted like she was trying to help him, she was a fake friend and in the end, she did not help at all.

At the end I felt nothing but agony for Matt. I can't imagine going through anything like that and Matt's voice actor holy shit. Whatever he was paid I bet wasn't enough because he did an INCREDIBLE job making everything feel so real. It's like the voice actor actually FELT the emotions and delivered the lines like he's actually in the situation. Kudos to everyone who worked on this game

I thought for sure that the twist at the end was that it was actually gonna be Julie in the chair, bound and gagged, so they trick him into killing her.

This kind of feels like presentable liberty, like how you don’t see faces and your confined to the small quarters, and your only form of communication and company is someone you can’t even see, the acting really sells the characters too

This disturbed me. And that’s saying a lot. I guess yes...it’s a good game but it’s also extremely morbid and depressing.

It would've been cool if they ended with "And you dear player I hope you enjoyed this. You're no different from us I mean look at you controlling Matt! You've been doing great! Sadly we won't be keeping you because you're in no need to us anymore." or something along those lines

Everyone's talking about how well Matt's VA is and how emotional he sounds, but nobody is talking about his voice itself. I love it.

I just kept shaking my head every time mark would just leave the doors wide open then get caught by the robots.

Matt choosing between Julia and Stacy would be like Mark choosing between Ethan and Amy... Think about that for a minute.

Watching the psychological torture this man has to go through actually made me feels suffocated, the voice actor really did a great job on portraying his emotions

You have to wonder: Is Julia really alive? All it showed was a video of someone with their head down. It could have been an imposter, or it could have been an early video they took. I guess if you go by the after-credits scene we have to say that she is, but it seems she's about to get the same thing that Matt did, a fake escape where she finds out he's still alive.

If devs refine mechanics and then make this game into a series of like 4 games including julias story and future seasons, and them actually breaking free of the system and finding each other in the end of the last one. I will pay good money for that. Amazing story they've got going here.

This game seems more like the tutorial or prologue section to the rest of the game. Like after this, you get to play as Julia where there is _actual_ gameplay and then after she's on the breaking point, switch back to Matt who "escapes" over a couple years, etc etc. As he's covered in blood and cuts and been shot after a final Thunder Dome escape episode, he walks to a door, and leaves to silhouettes of people clapping in front of a blinding light as the light overtakes the screen. Then it goes back to Julia, who is back to where she was having a breakdown on TV. She passes out, and the announcer assures the audience she's going to be back on her feet in no time. When people come in to see if she's actually dead or not, she reveals she's been feigning the fainting, and pulls the gun from one of them. She shoots it at the wall to see if it's real and to force them to answer some questions. She gets some answers, one rushes her, she shoots one, then shoots the other, and you make for a _real_ escape attempt. Outside there are police, and it's insinuated that she dies in a gunfight. It cuts back to Matt, and the blinding light dims and room lights come on to reveal the audience are animatronic. The announcer explains how his love Julia ruined the show, and to make things right they moved Matt to a more substantially controllable facility -- one that didn't have the inconvenience of government regulations, or censorship. He's been on a special black market pay-per-view program, and he's made them a LOT of money. But, all good things must come to an end, and it's time -- once and for all -- to cancel the show. He begs to see Julia one last time before they kill him, and the announcer just says, "Don't worry, you'll be seeing her very soon." Footsteps from the right, the announcer says, "Say goodnight to the audience, Matt," and then a final gunshot to set the screen black. Roll credits.

I watch these all day long, your voice relaxes me, and humor makes me happy.

There's a doctor who episode that reminds me of this game, the episode was called "The Weakest Link"

games like this prove that it doesn’t take the best quality materials to create seriously good stories and content, it’s v inspiring from an artist perspective.

The developers have made a Kickstarter campaign for 5 more chapters of this game :))))

i like how they give a subtle hint at the whole thing of trying to sneakily escape being a game and not real by having stacy tell the main character that it might be luring him into a game, since ofc she actually works with them and is not on the main characters side, she would listen.

This game was a captivating and I loved watching you play it Mark. But I must say that the more the story progressed, the more infuriated I became. By the end I was absolutely filled with hate towards every one of the workers at that show. It really drowned out the other feelings that we were supposed to be feeling, but that's just how I took the story. Great game and great let's play.
