I am 69 and have been an ardent fan of the Beatles all my life. I've been listening to the Twins and watching their videos for about five years now. I am so following everything they do. The Austrian precision shines in every detail... the Fab Four are re-appearing out of the grainy '60s in high-definition 21st Century excellence! And here, when the harmony is essential, I can tell they worked very hard to get the mix down perfect and make it look fun. The chorus is SO spot on it ABSOLUTELY GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS!!! Stay Groovy all!
It would be lovely if folks would recognize that Mona and Lisa are Austrian, singing songs that are the fabric of modern rock 'n' roll in a language that isn't their native tongue. Personally, I can't get enough of them - dialect and all. Such incredible musical talent, such charming personalities and just shine in a world that is rapidly losing its brightness. We should count ourselves outrageously lucky that they share this with us. Stay Groovy!
I never, EVER get tired of hearing You Ladies play this song of theirs. It honors them, it honors You (both & all). I loved it when i was 7yrs.old. I love now that i'm 60. Honestly, it 'Pleases~Me' like few other things in life.
Am I the only very old guy who tears up a little watching these remarkable young women? If like me you're an OBF (Original Beatle Fan) you know there's literally some kind of indefinable magic, some kind of spiritual core inside Beatles music. Lots of acts do pleasant or fun versions of Beatle songs but these girls GET IT. The Beatles are in their DNA, way deep down. HOW THE F IS THAT POSSIBLE 56 YEARS LATER?
There appears to be a lot of controversy about this topic. WTF? Ask John Lennon to explain "I Am The Walrus", for gosh sakes. Music is Music. Deal with it, people!
I spent the whole evening listening to all your covers and original songs. You girls are really talented! I hope you never stop making music because you're too good.
Mike Mckenna Except for this song they dont switch "Girl" to "boy"! Like the Beatles did a tribute to Brian Epsteins secret engagement with Neil Harrit and the song "Boys" where Ringo sings! It wouldnt sound good if "This boy" was renamed "This Girl" in the Twins cover of it would it?
I'm in awe at the sliding chord changes in this song. The Mona Lisa videos capture the picking and chord changes exceptionally well. It's just one of many things I like about watching the Mona Lisa videos.
I can't say I prefer these to the Beatles.... But its a very very close 2nd..... C'mon Ringo give these girls guest appearance with the All Star Band !
"All Starr Band" is not good enough for the Monalisa Twins. Ringo was not such a relevant Beatle as the other three. He was very great and unique for some Beatles songs (such as Ticket to Ride), but not as good as the other three as to involve Monalisas.
This is the best cover ever, the best. No match with this, all nice tribute bands do their best, but this is true emotion. Same magic mix of voices. Unbelievable!
vocal perfection is what I just witnessed...you honor music by sharing your talent...I could listen to you both sing and play all day.....come to Maui and play please...
One of my top 10 fave Beatles tunes. Got a bit misty eyed on this one. The Love and Respect you show for their music is Cosmic. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
You've seen the "This Boy is Mine" video? I think that clip here was from the same gig: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1bAuhDjlAmM.html
The pure, natural beauty of this song comes through no matter what version I hear. The harmonies and chord changes make me believe there must be a God they are so pretty. Great job, ladies!!! And their version of Your Bird Can Sing blows me away.
Wow!!! Fantastic harmonized vocals.... but above all else, what's really exciting is to see the both of you enjoying yourselves so much singing this FANTASTIC cover !!
Wow, these girls are really good, but also bringing their own style to these great Beatle songs, and other classic bands. So cool that this generation's seem to love the Beatles as much as old boys such as my self.
Not since I saw Robert Gordon covering Elvis songs back in the 80s have I been as excited by the discovery of a new artist. The MonaLisa Twins bring a freshness to these old Beatles classics that is utterly joyous. I bought 5 copies of your Beatles CD yesterday - 1 for me and 4 as presents for friends. I am an Englishman living in Normandy, France and I hope you play a gig here sometime soon. Keep doing what you are doing - absolutely amazing
From a person that speaks English in the United States, Michigan, north of Detroit, I never heard the song Please Please Me like that! When Mona sings come on, it comes out kha- mon. You hear the letter h. It is so cool to hear her dialect in that way...it is so freakin' wildly cool. I could listen to it over and over.
You are both amazing. I grew up in the 60’s when the Beatles were the tops. I love your renditions of their songs. A few years ago I began playing the guitar and was able to purchase a Rickenbacker 325c64 like the one Mona plays. I just joined your club and look forward to hearing a lot more. Congratulations Mona and Lisa.
Hi girls! It's Doug from sunny old California. Just wanted to stop by and say WOW!! Great version! You girls are getting better and better! I keep spreading the word about how wonderful you are. Keep the music coming!
Ladies...I have to salute you....you two sing so good...and your versatility on instruments is amazing!...and you're gorgeous too! all the best...hope to see/hear more great music from the greatest era of rock/pop music...^/^
These sisters have musical talent which is hard to comprehend. Their abilities are far reaching and are on par, or better, than the original versions of their songs. Mona is on fire with her Rickenbacker and Lisa absolutely kills her Gretsch! Bravo ladies 😊👍👏
Where have I been? This video appeared out of nowhere as recommended. Female McCartney and Lennon. But with their own soul. I am at a loss. Can’t even describe the way it makes me feel to listen to them. I love the Beatles and their music more than anything. Their music came to me when I was ten years old. They completely formed my musical taste. The closest to heaven I’ve ever been was , watching sir paul McCartney play in concert. In 2014.
I enjoy your music. Yeah you two are pretty young ladies. But you both are quite obviously gifted musicians and have great voices. Keep pumping out the tunes and I'll keep listening. Rock On Ladies !♡♡
Mona, in addition to the outstanding musicianship of both of you, your lead vocals just make this! I know this was recorded a while ago, but when you get the opportunity to play live again, please include "Please Please Me" in your set.
Been drinking this stuff in for the last 3 days can't break away from it... Incredible musicianship and skill what a great sound you've all developed.... I'm a new Fan and will be buying your CDs too.... Love your independent style of production. 👏❤️👏
