EVHbridNoire represents the largest network of diverse electric vehicle drivers. They raise awareness of the benefits of EVs and other e-mobility solutions, particularly for underrepresented communities.
Right now there are 107 historically black college and universities (HBCU) across the United States and my alma mater is one of them. I would like to pass on a HUGE shout out to EVHbridNoire as they traveled to Norfolk State University (Behold the Green and Gold!) in late 2023. I met them and spoke with a student about electric vehicles.

You’re an HBCU Alumnus. 👍🏾. Me too. I’m a FAMU Alumnus (started in 1982) . They need to put some charging stations on campus to make owning an EV practical for on campus residents. That could encourage vehicles like the Volt and used evs that students or their parents can afford. I live in my own home. I Can’t wait until there are some affordable used Ford Lightnings . I’ll grab one up.

@dmandman9 - I hear ya, however if installed, a student has to pay for charging. The total cost may be cheaper, but I don't think a student may want to pay. To counter what I just wrote - that same student would have to pay for gas at a higher cost. Another smaller problem is that a student will leave the car at the spot for hours, thus taking up a space that other EV users may need to charge. I hope my school and yours will get there, but it won't be today. Thanks for watching and if you can, please subscribe to my channel.

@@Waldorf9651 The chargers need not be fast chargers. To be honest because the cars just sit there for hours, and student daily driving is primarily close to campus, they could even be the most basic level 2 charging stations or even 120V outlets that add 3 or 4 miles of charge/hr . That way they could include the charging with the price of the parking permit since the average student won't be using that much energy. Many campuses are building or renovating student housing. This would be a good time to include charging infrastructure since they're often installing new lighting in the parking lot when they build or renovate. They could have a fast charger on or near campus where students could pay to use when their needs are greater. Parking enforcement could ensure they don't just let the cars sit at the fast charger. Just tossing around ideas... A bit of thinking outside the box is needed. (Already a subscriber)

Thank you for this content. I watch all you videos. This summer we'll be driving from North Carolina to South Jersey in the R1T. Will stay overnight in Annapolis and see the Navy stuff.

@dianewallace6064 - I saw that you responded to the Fisker video + you are a subscriber so thank you again for the sub and for watching. Although I'm retired army, I'm often in Annapolis; my wife loves the food there. Enjoy and be safe!

@@Waldorf9651 Thank you for your service! I've been to Annapolis once. Looking forward to it this summer. My oldest sister attended St Johns in Annapolis college and our family visited her for graduation in 1979. LOL. I've only seen the Norfolk airport as for as VA Beach/Norfolk. That was back in 1990.
