The reason for the flicker is quite complicated. It's because GoPro is an American company and the american electrical grid operates at 60Hz (cycles per second) so the cameras usually record at 60 or 30 frames per second but the UK and European grids are 50Hz so the camera is out of sync and some LED lighting units circuitry in cheaper units usually rely on pulsing the lights on and off very quickly, this leads to lots of fast flickering between cycles which our eyes can't see. It can be fixed in video when editing but it's not really worth it to be honest unless it forms a good chunk of the video. ^^^ Very confusing I know but hope it helps!
Amazing vlog, looking at cannonball express it actually looks like it takes your head off on some parts, as a 6ft 1 boy I’m scared to go on it for that reason alone 😂
Some great content and prolific vlogging on this channel since lockdown eased; loved the live edition from Clarence Pier last weekend also. I can recall riding Wipeout in its previous incarnation (The Missile at American Adventure in Ilkeston). As you say, it's pretty intense.
1:01:00 the flicker I believe is caused by electricity frequency of the lights that is picked up by the GoPro. If you have it on 30fps or 60fps, try the 24 fps setting for filming these parts and then switch back when outdoors.
I’m glad you enjoyed pleasurewood hills Andy and it’s looking a lot better now that they are upgrading a lot of it, I remember when they had the upside down pirate ship and the castle use to have Woody bear and friends haunted castle show I think in there! Hope you enjoyed Petits and hemsby, as usual brilliant vlogs and really enjoy them all 😀
I'm sure that Express or whatever its called was the first rollercoaster I ever went on aged 8 or 9 and it would be maybe late 1980s. It was painted like a snake. A day or so later I braved the Rollercoaster at Great Yarmouth pleasure beach #memories 😊
They also used to have a boomerang at North Wales butlins too, it was the first ever rollercoaster i ever went on and I was only 8 years old and that was back in the 80s, gawd I'm feeling old now Andy lol
Hi absolutely love your channel as im a big theme park fan, just quick question im due to come to pleasurewood hills on Wednesday and my friend wanted to know if the rides are plus size friendly at all, i couldn't tell her as iv never been there before so couldn't tell her, shes worried that shes going to waste her money and be embarrassed because she cant fit, if not i think she might opt for a non rider ticket. Many thanks 😊
@@Coaster_Crazy ahh thank you for the advice i will tell her not too worry. I think she was worried as she went to paultons Park and couldn't get on a few things but i did say that park is aimed more for kids etc really liked your isle of white videos i live in gosport so i have so many fond memories of black gang chine from when i was a kid i remember how mad some of the walk throughs were like someone made them on acid in the 60s lol
Great vlog! I was going to ask whether you did editing as part of your regular job as you seem to edit & upload very quickly! As for the social distancing on the chair lifts, common sense out the window... 🤣
I actually do most of my editing on my break time at work, i keep all my footage simple which makes it easier to add together and not much editing needed, I also do everything on my iPhone which also makes it easy to do and then I upload the videos on to RU-vid at night so it’s up and ready to go in the morning
Park should install a camera, if nothing else to cover themselves. What happens is you get idiots like this and if anything happens to them, they then sue the park!
Good to see a couple of improvements since your last vlog, notably the entrance. Shame some rides were closed. But like Lightwater Valley this park is one of the few in the UK that has so much potential because of the available space. A small Gravitykraft hybrid and a Vekoma family boomerang would probably do wonders in getting more interest from locals and beyond. Hope PWH gets a new coaster rather than just relies on the current ones for years to come.
Im hoping the rides are a little smoother than usual!! I mean maintenance did have a whole lot of down time to upgrade parts and do much needed maintenance.
We went to Brean Leisure park last week and the poor ghost train has suffered a lot of neglect. The lady in the bath isn't there anymore, it's just an empty bath. Poor terror castle 😔
Mario Dabdoub yes definitely recommend it especially when it’s a quieter park then the bigger parks as you can see in the vlog the wait for the rides wasn’t bad and they have all the cleaning, markers and hand sanitizers everywhere
Anyone else notice someone else on wipeout just screamed “I SAW A BOLT COME OUT “ lmao I’m dying Edit: went to pleasurewood hills yesterday and had a rlly good time except from the fact I banged my head on cannonball express and generally saw double it was rllh good def recommend going on wipeout for people who haven’t been on it already
When you do come back to fantasy Island toucan tours is different it has new scenes and seaquarium is looking kind of bad at the moment from theme park worldwide vlog from the park you can see half of the things are broken its sad to see.
Ben Fussey yeah I watched the vlog, I knew about the end scene change on Toucan Tours and Seaquarium has always been a bit of an odd one, it could do with a full retheme
Hiya Andy i realized that you were there when i was on the worlds slowest chairlifts i shouted you but you difnt see me but then i got a photot with you .
6:34 So this is probably if the masks were to suddenly become mandatory, no guest would be able to point at the staff and say 'Well they weren't wearing their masks so why should I?' so probably trying to set an example to kids.
Would be a better park if the sea lion show didn't feature. Regardless of whether or not they live longer in captivity, they're not exactly living naturally. Hopefully all such shows will soon be banned. That aside, seems like a nice little park.
