Agreed, but unfortunately the people who own them, don't give a s**t about them, as long as they are making money! that's why I would never ride them when in Blackpool no matter what! If they aren't getting rides, they won't put the horses (and donkey's on the beach) through what they do!! AVOID if you love animals!!!
Blackpool council take note - to have those horses working in those conditions is abuse and cruel. If this is acceptable in your town then you need to sort yourselves out.
@@nigeljohnston1148 they are cart horses not show ponies! How do you think horses lived before they were "domesticated" by humans? They would have been out in the wild exposed to the elements, not kept in comfort in a stable being groomed!
I stumbled across your channel a couple of years ago, I watch religiously but don’t usually comment. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your work, the way you portray Blackpool in a positive light is fantastic. It’s a gem of a channel. Thank you ❤️❤️
The weather has worsened ,more than Scotland, and those poor horses working in that weather, l thought l just saw the comet as you spoke about it,take care and stay safe, thank you for sharing this video,
Imagine fighting the First World War with you types around! You would be speaking German now. Millions of horses were used in WW1 and helped to beat the enemy. Horses are tough.
Thanks for braving the elements, be safe. Have a look tomorrow morning and see how much damage there's been, hopefully everyone got home safely. And hopefully they take the horses home now.
Thanks for venturing out in that weather for us Stephen i can't believe that in that weather the horse and carts are still on the promenade take care and STAY SAFE
It should never have been put up. Soon as I saw it being put up I said that is a disaster waiting to happen, even on a breezy day it would have gone. Typical desk bound council office graduates that have no practical experience make these decisions, god it's a town on the north west coast, the mind boggles.
That was a great video Stephen the blowing sand was incredible, and the lights tonight just seemed brighter than ever just fab. Hope Storm Ashley doesn’t cause, any more damage in Blackpool.
I remember this sort of sandstorm in the 1960s. Dad would get us up at about 5.00 a.m. to walk on the beach, obviously depending on the tide. How it hurt my legs as we wore skirts and socks then. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Thanks for going out in that sandblasting event and sharing the video. 👍
Best video of Windy Blackpool, and yeah, comments are amazing, too. Thanks, stevie, going outside with yah camera. Proper brilliant, and I hope you were ok 👍 you do anything for yah fans 😅❤
Hi, another great video, it started off nice and calm but the winds sure got up! Great shots of the sand whirling on the beach! Mother Nature is amazing sometimes.ill leave the ride in the big one lol!
You would think Blackpool Council would have had the sense to take the marquee down BEFORE the storm.... Bit of a contrast between them and Disney World in Florida and their preparations before a hurricane! I don't get people's comments about the horses, they are cart horses and are very tough animals, go to Tipton in the Black Country (where we call them 'osses) they are used to being out in harsh weather!
Totally agree. Even the trams stopped working tonight. Can't believe that people were using them in that weather, but it's never a good site to see in the 21t century.
You was brave tonight with all that stormy weather, great vid, and yes the council definitely had a job on tonight securing the stuff on the promenade.
What's gets me Stephen is how selective this storm was, you have bravely shown us what it was like in Blackpool yet here in West Yorks we got hardly nothing yet going into North Yorks they got it quite bad. Weird 🤔 Thanks again Stephen.
🎉Lawrence of Arabia. Ha ha ha. You are funny. I loved the video. I went to Blackpool once for my 50th birthday and had a great time. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Hi there Steve me and my dad are huge fans of you channel and we were talking before about the storm and the video you posted and we would like to know if you were able to do a video of the journey between Star gate and Fleetwood Ferry many thanks
Yes Stephen the Gales have been bad here 😅 I've been out picking neighbours dustbins up that been blown over. I was surprised at the people out and about. Another great video Stephen thank you 😊
I used to own a house in the posh area (as you call it Stephen) on North Prom in St.Annes this is the weather I remember most, I always lost roof tiles and spent half of the next day clearing sand from the front yard.
I always wondered why back in the day Butlin's didn't build a site there. Would have made a fortune. I believe they had that hotel. Also there was a Pontins where they have built houses now. Someone told me that Billy Butlin thought that building it on the site where Pontins was would have not had direct access to the beach. Just the dunes. There was no land available on the opposite side where the beach is, and not possible due to the tides. The closest places would have been St Annes, who didn't want it there, or Cleveleys, where again not enough land.
Gosh Stephen looking bad there in blackpool hope you kept safe, such a shame, all the hard work for the light pool and the marquee, hope everyone was safe there taking it down, stay safe Stephen thanks again for your continued hard work for your channel fans, bye 😊xx
