I'm gobsmacked that someone else is greatful to be alive, walk this earth and most of all I was born in the USA!!! I take this pledge and share it with others who feel tge same way. Thanks Mike, you are one of this country's best spokesmen for who and what makes America great. 😍❤❤❤😘
Dear Mike, I'm grateful for being of fan of your previous shows because that made me click on this video! I'm going to try everyday to be grateful for all of the things that make my life better rather than complain about all the things that make my life harder. I live on a small disability pension and have many health issues, including being a amputee. I lost my right leg below the knee due to diabetes. But I'm grateful for my prosthetic because it allows me to walk again! That's just an example of how I want to be grateful. Thank you for your videos and I'm also thankful for you! God bless you Mike!
Every day I am in pain. Today I needed the reminder to be grateful for my life, so thank you. It sounds simple, but you gave me a reason to stay alive, and that's a really big gift. ❤️
Mike, I am so happy to see someone standing up and trying to make an actual difference. I wholeheartedly support you. I'm 45 years old, I am a master aircraft mechanic who has trained 4 apprentices, I am an apprentice industrial manufacturing technician, I am a level two millwright. Also I have a bunch of laminated cards saying I can drive forklifts and other machinery. I am on a journey of continuous self improvement, and yet it's never enough. The trades keep slipping away. We farm out everything. You say all the things I want to. We have to stop pissing away our lives for a cheap buck.
Dr. Johnson said it best: "Depend upon it, sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully." 22 plus years as an electrician has allowed me to go places I never would have and to meet people I wouldn't have otherwise met
Oh yes. I'm trying very hard to tell my kids that if they ever feel down...just thing about what you love, like, or otherwise would miss. A pillow, a full belly when you get hungry, sisters that drive you nuts, but make you laugh. A God that loves you, even if you screw up from time to time. I love this. You are a voice of goodness in an insane opulent world.
He feels unqualified. Which makes him all the more qualified. It's irony biting the rest of us in the ass. Everyone would be better off with Mike Rowe as POTUS, except for maybe Mike Rowe.
I wished and prayed for an alternative to Trump to vote for... I’m in. How do we start a Rowe for President 2020 campaign? It’s going to be the best and worst of his Dirty Jobs.
Pledge 1- "I believe that I have won the greatest lottery of all time. I am alive. I walk the Earth. I live in America. Above all things, I am grateful." Pledge 10- "I believe that I am a product of my choices - not my circumstances." Wait a second......something's not right here
Being stationed overseas for a total of seven and a half years reinforced my love of our country. Every day in the morning the German and American flags were raised. We stood at attention and saluted. At the end of the duty day the flags were retired to the tune of each nations national anthem. Whatever the weather, rendering the proper respect to our host's and the US flag was paramount. Our flag was the connection to all I hold dear here in the USA. I wish more people would get a chance to see what they have here by not having it by living in a different country. I wasn't a combat veteran and didn't deploy for the first Gulf war. It wouldn't have looked good to have a US nuclear weapons specialist in the sand box.
I love this. Fantastic sweetie. When I lost my vision I had the hardest time finding my gratitude again. I did find it again an now I realize what a gift loosing it has been to me.
I almost died in September of 2012. Almost every day since then, I chose joy. I say almost every day, because we all have bad days. But here lately, my attitude of gratitude has improved, and I chose joy more often than not. I don't like feeling down and grumpy.
Yeah this guy is the Real Deal, tough, manly and cool enough to hang with five crab boat Captains in Alaska doing shots for hours AND sings opera at level one beauty, that's serious range.
Hey Mike yeah Canadian and my head met with a winshield of a car a few years back accident pedestrian vs speeding car but had things happened any other way wouldn' t have been here Thanks for this segment pledge 1 usually sweat the details after overcoming quite the hurtle not scared and somewhat unscathed emotionally and physically from the incident Yet always stressed about the small things ! Pledge also to dwell more often on the good than the bad things Thanks for the reminder! A trade worker and proud of it 😀
Our son Nick, an active duty Marine, stationed at Camp Pendleton was killed by a DUI driver running a red light through an intersection. One second earlier or later we would still have him. We are grateful for the 25 years of love and memories.
I don't take for granted that I'm 51 and I have no health problems I do a lot of walking at work and I don't take it for granted the ability to walk for 8 hours with no pain
Thank you. This felt so profound to me, I think at this particular moment in life I really needed something to finally help. I didn't expect to find it on RU-vid.
I just now saw your channel. SV Seeker sent me. Big fan from way back in the Dirty Jobs days. You have been missed but never forgotten. I look forward to watching you on YT. Fellow Patriot.
Hi Mike I'm from Chile in southamerica I know you thanks to dirty job from more than 15 years now and even tho I'm positive no one i know here knows who you are, I'm most gratefull to have to reckon a humble cool and smart american guy like you, and that's a lot to say.
I wanted to let you know how much it touched me when you sang our national anthem while you were working with the Baysox Baseball team. You sang it like you believec every word and were proud to be an American. Thanks Mike.
My workshop will never be functioning properly until I GET a big Mike Rowe picture in epic frame. I Got Jesus and Mary and lot of holy pictures, but my workshop NEED also this one as well...
Hi Mike, I am grateful to be born in the United States. I have my signed copy of your sweat pledge up in my office for all to see. Thanks for all your hard work.
This is a BRILLIANT idea! Not that the SWEAT pledge needs explaining -either you sign it or you don’t. I am more than happy and proud to share these videos, perhaps they will change someone’s life ♥️
Trump/Rowe 2024 This is not sarcasm. I have wanted Mike Rowe to run for President for so long. If not President, he would make an amazing Vice President. Mr. Rowe, if you are reading this, please take this seriously to consider running. You have great tact. You are incredibly intelligent. You understand the American workforce. Esther ch. 4.
While I agree with that statement profoundly, I think Mike might be too honest for politics. It's possible it would poison him, and I'd hate to see that. Anyone that runs these days is subjected to nearly every type of physical and mental corrosion tests by the job of President imo. It's a trial by fire. I don't think people are ready for the truth, honestly. He'd call things as he sees it, and people would be screaming for his impeachment if they didn't like it.
My favorite (or worst) close call ever occurred back in 1985. We were heading towards our deer stands in the early hours and the Fog was terrible. We could barely see 50 feet in front of us...anyway, we crossed a Rail Road track and soon as we reached the other side we hear the unmistakable sound of a train and it's damn horn. We missed that train by a handful of seconds.(or the train missed us) To this day we bring that up and ponder, "What would have happened if we went just a couple miles slower? etc...."
Love the vid. Shared it. I can’t say I’ve disagreed with Mike on any of his points he’s made. Give it time, something might come up. Until then and even after, I’m grateful for Mike being a voice of reason in our nation. God bless Mike, his team & God bless America!
Btw we could never e sick of you Mike, but we do love Chuck too.... he is a hoot. Still love him in the puppy dog costume the best. I just wanted to pet his tummy and rub his little head.
My family is disappointed I didn't go to collage. Now they are disappointed my 18 year old is not going to collage. They did and seem unhappy to me. Miserable infact in some cases.
The idea that Mike running for President is sad - although he is one of my overwhelmingly favorite wonderful people whom I love to watch and read. Being president is not just a dirty job, I believe it is one of the most awful jobs one could possibly take on. Think about all the President’s in history - most were and are professional politicians. This is most likely the dirtiest job there is even down to school board elections...😪 (this is a general observation not an opening for dialogue)
I have experienced 50 birthdays. I am very grateful. Even though I suffered the disservice of the whole work smarter not harder era I have managed to get married, own a house, and experience a pretty good life. But how much sweeter if I was also taught to work hard? If I used everything I was given time wise. To invest in me? Play and rest is great, but how much sweeter could it have been? I guess I will use the next 50 birthdays to find out. Thanks Mr. Rowe.
You have touched on one of my greatest weaknesses. I just can’t seem to appreciate the water until the well goes dry. I applaud your efforts. Unfortunately I’ve been unable affect change in myself. I hope you have more success in your effort to change others.
I have a tee-shirt that says, "Thanksgiving, is not just a day, it's a lifestyle". Kind of falls right inline with your pledge. Right on Mike, keep up what you are doing.
