I too come from watercolour and I'm just starting to use gouache and am really liking it. I think it will enable me to venture more into plein air next spring (winters here are too cold!). Your enthusiasm about the beauty in nature echoes in my heart and the brushwork in your sketches is inspiring me. Thank you for that.

When I see your videos I am always inspired and keen to get out and paint plein air myself. I work at a desk full time and the lack of daylight makes it a real challenge during the week, so thank you for bringing that joy into the lives of those of us, who can’t get out. I'm always amazed by your beautiful art work, and the videography in this video is great, good closeups on your brushwork and I was completely engrossed in the whole thing and it felt as if I was there with you, I wasn't even thinking about anything other than being in the moment with you and it's not until afterwards that I realise this must be a sign of great filming and a great subject. Hi Sarah. I was reading your blog just before you uploaded, and it answered a question I had about my Himi jelly gouaches, where I thought the colours went very dull after they dried. Ah this is so lovely - both the views and your paintings - and I am so impressed by Wolfie's camera work!! 1:56 looks like it could be in a music video or documentary. That's such a good idea about doing those green highlights on the rocks first. The light changes so fast now, I was just taking some photos earlier today for my book blog and it was only a matter of minutes before the light had changed completely. My brother is as good at photo and composition that I'm bad at it. Always blury or overexposed. It's not easy to film or take a photo. Your partner did it well 👍

Your painting had a place in it where I thought "I just don't like gouache," even though I'm trying to learn it my ownself, and then it did exactly what I'm used to seeing in my own watercolor: it had the "ugly phase" through which we just have to KEEP GOING, and then your picture turned out so well that I got back to "I LOVE gouache and I REALLY want to LEARN this," so ha ha on ME! 😂 Thank you.
